After a long winter of bone-chilling temperatures and record snow falls, salvation is finally here: spring break! It’s the perfect opportunity to warm up in some of the world’s most fantastic destinations, and there’s no better way to get to them than via a cruise. But not all spring break cruises are created equal. Depending on whom you’re traveling with and what your idea of a good vacation is, the cruise line you sail with can make or break your vaca. But since vacations are kind of our thing, we’ve done the research and found the best ones, just for you.

Carnival Cruises

If you’re in college:

Let’s not beat around the bush – you’re here for fun. Midterm exams are over and you’re ready to let loose. A great fit for you is Carnival, a cruise line with a reputation for being the most fun at sea. They have loads activities on board, great night life, and travel to super-popular spring break destinations, including Cancun, the Bahamas, and Bermuda.

Other great options: Norwegian and Celebrity

Disney Cruises

If you’re traveling with kids:

You probably already know which cruise line your kids are going to love, and don’t worry – you’ll love a Disney cruise, too. While Disney offers a plethora of attractive activities for kids and irresistibly fun fam-friendly entertainment, they don’t forget about adults. Aboard, you’ll find a quiet adult-exclusive pool, adult-exclusive dining, lounges, and nightclubs.

Other great options: Royal Caribbean and Carnival

Viking Cruises

If you’re trying to avoid kids:

There’s no shame in wanting a relaxing vacation devoid of partying 20-somethings and crying babies. Your best bet for peace and quiet is to bookon a small or luxury cruise line that doesn’t offer the vast amenities that larger ships tout (thus, they don’t appeal as much to younger people or families). River cruises, like Viking, and sleek Silversea ships are a great way to go. Not enough excitement for you? Fleets like Holland and Princess will offer you more amenities and a relatively more mature crowd, especially if you avoid itineraries that include Cancun or destinations in the Caribbean, like the Bahamas.

Other great options: Seabourn and Regent Seven Seas
