Frozen_Niagara Falls

Freeze Fame
First up in travel news: Niagara Falls has frozen over. Not completely, of course (the water rushes too fast for that to ever happen). But according to the Daily Mail, freezing temps have frozen much of the falls creatingice formations that have become a tourism draw. But given the recent sub-zero temps, something tells us crowds aren’t a big problem.

Beach bummed
Qantas will soon be enforcing stricter dress codes in its lounges, CNN reports. Due to customer complaints that some fliers were showing up in flip-flops, shorts and bare feet, the Australian airlines has agreed to ban beach attire and enforce a smart casual dress code. Is this because we showed up in velour sweats last time?

Frost bitten, twice shy
One snow-covered New York town has a new message for visitors—go to Florida. According to BuzzFeed, the visitor’s bureau of Ithaca posted a message on its website encouraging people to visit the Florida Keys and stating that the city is “for the birds now.” Um, we have a feeling the birds would prefer to be elsewhere too.

Disney whirled
A Mickey Mouse-obsessed couple has traveled 7,900 miles and hit three Disney Parks in a single day. According to Yahoo!, the couple began their morning at Tokyo, Disney then flew to Anaheim for a quick stop at Disneyland then flew to Orlando and made it to Disney World just before midnight. Talk about a ‘Goofy’ adventure.

Dopa cabana
A bus stop in Boston turned into a beach cabana this week. According to the Boston Herald,it was part of a publicity stunt from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Visitors and Convention Bureau who turned a downtown bus shelter into a heated cabana complete with bikini-clad models. (Let’s hope their contracts include a frostbite clause).
