50 shades of getaway
Want a steamy weekend escape that mimics those between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey? According to the Huffington Post, in anticipation of the film’s February 13 release, hotels are creating naughty packages including everything from tickets to NYC‘s Museum of Sex to Grey-inspired cocktails and even one that’s handing out paddles. For a post-coital game of ping-pong right?

Snow joke
Two Canadians have done the impossible. According to the BBC, daredevil climbers Will Gadd and Sarah Huenkien scaled the 51-meter frozen portion of Niagara Falls last week and theydid it in just under an hour despite the fact that portions of the fall were still flowing. They’re next impossible feat is to try completing a sentence without saying ‘eh’ at the end. Good luck.

Oh, the huge manatee
Tourists to Three Sisters Springs north of Tampa, Florida got edged out this week by non-human ones. According to CNN, more than 300 manatees—who spend their winters in the area’s warm waters—gathered in the springs prompting park officials to close it to humans accustomed to snorkeling among the large beasts. Some visitors were so upset they had a sea cow.

Up in the heir
Conrad Hilton, younger brotherto Paris, has stolen the mantel of crazy from his sister. According to Yahoo!, the hotel heir has been charged with disrupting an airline flight, namely dropping F-bombs, threatening to fight a co-pilot and threatening to kill a flight attendant. What airline was it because we have to admit some airlines could stand to beef up their customer service.

A LAX dress code
And finally in travel news: Apparently, Los Angeles International Airport doesn’t might if its passengers go pantsless. According to E! Online, pop star lady Gaga was spotted walking through LAX with her dog and appearing to be wearing only a red, white and black patterned button down shirt, huge sunglasses and high heels. Defying convention again, Ms. Gaga? We guess that’s why the Lady is a tramp.
