Orbitz makes Glassdoor’s best places to work list—again

Remember when we made Glassdoor’s list of the best places to work last year, and the year before? Well, we did it again. For the third consecutive year, Orbitz Worldwide received a spot on Glassdoor’s seventh annual Employees’ Choice Award, which honors the Best Places to Work for the upcoming year. Glassdoor, the leading social jobs and career community, relies solely on the input of employees, who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environments and companies via an anonymous survey.

Currently on Glassdoor, Orbitz Worldwide has an overall 4.4 out of 5 stars. Orbitz Worldwide’s profile also reveals that culture and values are among the top ranked characteristics among employees, with a noteworthy 4.5 out of five stars. Work/life balance is a close second with 4.3 out of five stars, followed by senior management with 4.1 out of 5 stars.

Additional highlights on Orbitz Worldwide’s current Glassdoor profile include:

· 97 percent of employees approved of the CEO, Barney Harford.
· 79 percent of employees said the company has a positive business outlook.
· 93 percent of employees would recommend working at the company to a friend.

The Best Places to Work are determined using company reviews shared by U.S. based employees who elected to participate in the survey between November 13, 2013 and November 2, 2014. To be considered for the large category, a company must have at least 1,000 or more employees and have received at least 50 company reviews from U.S.-based employees during the window of eligibility.

Orbitz Worldwide employs almost 1500 employees, including nearly 800 at its Chicago corporate headquarters. It is one of the world’s leading online travel sites, operating in over 140 countries and annually generating $12 billion in travel bookings.
