La Concha, A Renaissance Resort in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a great place to mix business with pleasure.

By Mark Chesnut

The weather is getting cooler in much of the United States, and many people are already thinking about that next winter vacation. But there’s no reason to wait until then—not when you can head to hotels like these, where rejuvenating activities, beautiful meeting space and high-tech amenities can refresh any tired business traveler.

Puerto Rico: At La Concha, a Renaissance Resort in San Juan’s chic Condado district, guests can enjoy a prime beachfront location while also making use of extensive meeting space, upscale on-site restaurants and a hopping lobby bar and casino. On Puerto Rico’s south coast is the Copamarina Beach Resort, a 20-acre paradise that’s not far from the Dry Forest Reserve and lots of other activities. Business groups can arrangepersonalized activities and also take advantage of more than 2,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Saint Lucia: The BodyHoliday at LeSPORT, an all-inclusive beachfront resort, has unveiled the Tree House spin studio, enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The property even offers a “SAD Program for Happy People,” designed to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder—those winter blues.

Turks and Caicos: Like its sister properties in New York City, the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos is stylish and luxurious—but here, the focus is on relaxation. Wellness themed activities include “exhale core fusion” classes, massages, spa drinks and lots of fresh food. The property also has more than 600 square feet of event and meeting space with an adjoining garden that makes for a scenic venue for doing business.
