Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe

Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe.

By Richard Hammer

Where else but Philadelphia can you attend two different arts festivals on the same trip? Each year in September the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and the Philly Fringe are held consecutively.  It’s 16 days of nonstop, wild creativity and daring performances.  This year the festivals are being held from September 3 -18, 2010.

While visiting Philadelphia you’ll find great hotels like the Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia, centrally located in the heart of Philadelphia’s cultural district on the Avenue of the Arts.  The Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel Philadelphia is currently offering 25% off of a two night stay or longer.  This historic hotel is located in the Rittenhouse Square section of Center City Philadelphia.   Located in the culturally rich and diverse neighborhood of University City on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania is The Inn at Penn, A Hilton Hotel.

Experimental art is, to say the least, a unique view into the many ways artists express their creativity.  What makes these two consecutive festivals so unique is that they appear in many venues throughout the city, from art galleries and museums to churches, lounges and even a book store.  The festivals support both Philadelphia based artists as well as their international peers.

I recommend taking the opportunity to visit Philadelphia to see and experience the art, music and dance of these two wonderful festivals.  Enjoy exploring the city and the endless number of venues hosting the artist’s exhibits and their performances.
