If you’re planning on traveling internationally and don’t have a passport yet, now might be the time to get one. As of Tuesday July 13, fees to buy a US passport will increase as much as 35% hiking the cost of a new adult passport book from $110 to $135. The renewal fee will also increase,  going up from $85 to $105.  Check the new passport fees chart for details on all the changes.

For those of you traveling for work, the increased fees will also extend to visa applications, so make sure you purchase those sooner rather than later.

You can find the nearest location to apply for a passport at the Department of Consular affairs’ passport facility search page or if you live near a major city, at the nearest Passport Agency.
