Captain Mickey Mouse was on hand to help place the final building block in the bow of the new Disney Dream, Disney's newest cruise ship set to make her maiden voyage on January 26, 2011.

Kids – and kids at heart – around the world can rejoice, as this past Tuesday signaled the final stages of construction for Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Dream. Making its first trip on January 26th of next year and featuring sailings to the Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, the vessel will introduce two brand-new cruising concepts. First is the “virtual porthole”, which will allow windowless inside stateroom guests to enjoy an ocean view from their exact location on the ship via a live feed. The Dream will also debut a thrilling on-deck water coaster, AquaDuck – the first of its kind at sea.

A piece of the ship’s bow served as the finishing structural touch and signaled a major milestone in the ship’s overall construction. And while onboard staterooms, nightclubs, and restaurants still need to be refined, the Dream is on its way to making cruise magic.
