Walking the Freedom Trail is a must-do for anyone visiting Boston, especially in the summer. Grab a trail map and follow that red line winds from the Boston Commons to Bunker Hill. It’s educational, fun … and it can wear you out. If you want to stay along the Freedom Trail, here are 4 Boston hotels where you can unwind from a day of history with modern indulgence:

The Millennium Bostonian Hotel
The only Boston hotel located right in historic Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, The Millennium Bostonian Hotel is steps away from the Freedom Trail, New England Aquarium, and the waterfront. This hotel just completed an amazing renovation of their lobby, guestrooms and restaurant. The Millennium Bostonian is a great place to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
Neighborhood: Located in Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market place a short walk to the historic North End. Logan airport is only 3 miles away.
Nearby Freedom Trail Attractions: Faneuil Hall and Old State House.

Ames/A Morgan Original 4 star
One of Boston’s newest boutique hotels, the Ames opened in November 2009. Located in the historic Ames building, this hotel is modern and trendy but look closely and you’ll still see the original fireplaces. Try out Woodman’s restaurant — I just love their mushroom toast and grilled cheese sandwiches!
Neighborhood: The Ames is centrally located within walking distance of the Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, Government Center, Financial District, and just 2 blocks from the T station.
Nearby Freedom Trail Attractions: Old State House, Boston Massacre.

Nine Zero
The Nine Zero is a wonderful luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of the city, where comfort and sophistication come together.  I love that your prized pooch can also check into this hotel with you —  they even have pets beds, treats, pet sitting and much more.
Neighborhood: Set in the Ladder District, this downtown hotel is steps away from Beacon Hill, Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, Government Center and the theater district.
Nearby Freedom Trail Attractions: Granary Burying Ground( famous people laid to rest here, including Paul Revere, Mother Goose, and John Hancock), Park Street Church, Old Corner Book store.

Omni Parker Hotel 4 stars
Don’t let your history lesson end at the Freedom Trail. The Omni Parker House, a Boston land mark since 1855, is also located on the Freedom Trail, and newly renovated and restored. Make sure you stop by Parker’s restaurant for a slice of Boston Cream pie and a famous Parker house roll (both invented there)
Neighborhood: The Omni Parker Hotel is ideally located downtown; you’re just walking distance to Quincy Market, Beacon Hill and Faneuil Hall.
Nearby Freedom Trail Attractions: Old South Meeting House, Old corner Book Store, Chapel Burying Ground, and First Public School site
