Passengers arriving in Indianapolis after 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, will be among the first to experience the city’s new airport.

The new Indianapolis International Airport, accessed from I-70, is about a 16-minute drive southwest of downtown Indianapolis. It features 40 gates on two concourses, advanced security screening with dedicated lanes for frequent fliers, casual travelers and families, and plenty of dining and parking options.

Flights scheduled to land at or after 8 p.m. November 11 will land at the new airport. All departures on Tuesday leave from the old airport. On Wednesday, November 12, all arrivals and departures will be at the new facility. Complimentary shuttles will run between the airports for several weeks for travelers who have cars parked at the old airport.

The new airport features a variety of local and national restaurants and shops, including Cold Stone Creamery, Starbucks and Cafe Patachou, a favorite Indianapolis breakfast spot, plus Borders, Vera Bradley and South Bend Chocolate.
