I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years, but this time opted to stay in a studio room. This is pretty much a home away from home with two storeys of comfort including a living room and work space. It was also very quiet which gave me a pleasant working experience and I was surprised by how little it cost. The hotel has moved on and service levels have improved. I no longer felt like I was 'the only laowai in the village' and more so just blended into the scenery. Likewise, the local area has also dramatically improved and many of the construction projects are complete. Walking to the nearby mall and restaurant area is no longer as dangerous as it once was! All in all, no problems recommending this hotel with five stars!
The building itself is really old and tacky, but beyond that, the hotel is very nice and cleaned. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was really good, all sorts of foods. Gym and pool very nice as well.
When you visit a Crowne Plaza hotel, you have certain expectations. Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet mine. Not that it is a bad hotel to stay in, but it is not up to pat in comparison to other hotels in China. My room was basic and rather small. But what bothered red me is the wear in the room (see pictures). From rusty mirrors, to mold in the bathtub and broken furniture. Even for a hotel that is not new, I expect the management to make sure rooms are kept in top condition.
The Crowne Plaza is in the same premises as the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn express and the Sofitel. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Decent breakfast and an Italian restaurant for vegetarian options. Staff speaks limited English except at the reception. Rooms are well furnished although small by usual Chinese standards.
Overall it was a good experience, the front desk staff at check in did not speak much English but she really tried to explain herself. The room was superb, although the separation between the bathtub and the room is a screen film and not a glass door. Since it was just myself, it was ok but if you travel with someone else, there is no much privacy from the toilet area to the bedroom in the suite I was. I would also suggest to have better signage to the swimming pool as it is on the second tower, the cleaning staff was very nice to show me the way, otherwise I would not have found it Room service staff was wonderful! Although she made a mistake on the order, she corrected it right away and was very kind The Sunday lunch buffet was really good for the price, a nice selection of dishes.
Nice hotel located in the central place in Zhengzhou, easily to access. Free parking, and warm welcome from the front desk. Big swimming pool and gyms, breakfast tomorrow try. I like the room of this hotel very much, for me they update the room as duplex room, the bedroom up stair, and living room down stair, quite interesting and i am happy with it.
Stayed at the hotel while on business in China the hotel is excellent and staff were very helpful and always happy to assist The rooms were very good and as a spire elite member was upgraded as expect the only complaint was the at the wifi was very slow but will be visiting the hotel again soon on our return
Firstly, we are big IHG fans and spend around 20 nightsba year in their hotels, however this CP is a big miss. The staff, with the exception of one bellboy, were perfunctory and clearly just going through the motions. They lacked warmth, and any of friendliness that you normally get in a five-star hotel. The rooms was OK, although it was on the small side and the decoration is way OTT. I have also reviewed the dreadful hotel restaurant "Mama Mia" on this site. In summary, we had spent the previous night at the Hilton a few hundred metres up the road, and for the same money, it is a superior hotel in every respect.
Excellent room service, room equipment on the really high level, friendly staff, but sometimes to discuss with them in English language. For European visitors there is possibility to get European breakfast, for who dont like chinese food it very important
The Crowne Plaza Zhengzhou is nestled in a bustling part of the city near several international hotels but not in any tourist area. There are two great parks within walking distance with a Walmart and upscale mall nearby, accessed by walking, taxi, or uber. Staff was wonderful and most spoke English well and were anxious to help out. Breakfast from 6:00-10:00 was full service with European, American, and Asian fare. Even though the hotel is in the heart of the city, rooms are quiet and spacious.
