Location is fantastic, but almost everything else is of lower quality Beds are extremely uncomfortable and noisy, 3 times per night - at 0000, 0200 and later there is a garbage truck straight under the windows with extreme noise, rooms are cold unless you go down and ask to tun on the heating, then its very hot next to it, but still very old next to the window and floors are basically freezing anyway Absolutely inconvenient system of the light switches next to your pillow, so during the night you will turn on the whole rooms lighting with your head Extremely uncomfortable pillows and old and torn blankets Not a 3 star at all But location is great, yes.
We booked this hotel for 3 nights when travelling through northern Spain. We paid less than £40 each night for a double room, which included breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. The rooms were clean and relatively spacious, the staff were very helpful and the location was excellent - just 2 minutes from the basilica. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
We were here in August 2017. The hotel is pretty average but the staff are great. We had originally booked 2 double room but due to changes on the people coming with us, much to our surprise the reception staff offered to change us to 1 double and 1 single room so that we would pay less than the booked fee. Don't worry about breakfast at the hotel. The coffee is horrible and there is not much else to choose from. You don't really need breakfas at the hotel, there are many places that serve breakfast just a couple of metres away. The airconditioning in the hotel is central and they only turn it on if the temperature heats 30 degrees. However, if you are only looking for a budget hotel with excellent location this is the place to go. Just metres away from the cathedral, bus stop on the corner and many, many good restaurants nearby.
Stayed here two nights May 1 and 2nd. Arrived early and had convenient luggage storage until rooms were ready. Efficient and friendly check-in. Superb staff. Nice surprise when we discovered breakfasts next door were include.. A real bonus especially considering it was quite substantial with great coffee. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the side street that provided dining facilities at certain times of the day. Open windows offered the potential for the ingress of smoke and noise from tables below. Perhaps a front or much higher room if concerned. Can't comment on air conditioning because of not having a requirement. Although fully booked our stay was very pleasant and quiet. We had no complaints with our nice, cozy room and very comfortable beds. TV had some English channels and WI-FI was satisfactory. Perfect location and would definitely stay here again.
if you look for a centrical place & shopping, tapas, going out area next to you - this is THE place! we were a group of friends & had several rooms booked. The staff is very friendly & flexible: can store your luggage if you arrive early etc.The hotel is simple but clean.Breakfast was coffee/tea + toast/croissant.You might wanna go for breakfast outside the hotel & find more variety. The area is noisy as it is the city center & 5min walk from El Tubo - the best area for drinks & tapas. If you look for silent hotel & good night sleep, you may want to look for a place outside the old town. There are several paid parkings nearby, free to park across the river if you get a spot. The Basilica is just across the street. If I come back for a weekend again, would chose this place for a night or two due to its location & price (we got a good deal in March).
friendly staff, nice hotel in the middle of historic centre, very close to Plaza del Pilar, clean but possibly noisy at night (from outside or from other rooms, poorly isolated). breakfast in bar right next door, reachable from inside hotel lobby.
The hotel is very well positioned for sightseeing, a couple of minutes away from the basilica and right next to the cathederal. As others have noted, it can be a little noisy (garbage collection at 3am) and the aircon is controlled by the front desk. That said the staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant is a great place for breakfast.
Superb location. Parking is not easy here. You cannot even stop outside to unload. We eventually found an underground carpark but had to get a taxi back to the hotel! Not ideal. Hotel room comfortable & adequate but no drinks making facilities. Fridge provided and safe.
We were delighted with our room, away from the front street, high above a side lane. Beds were great, bathroom super, all lovely. The street noise was fine...till management decided to turn off the block's air conditioning in the middle of the night! With 3 in the room, we cooked! We went downstairs once (no phone) to request it be put back on...which it was, but then we woke again with it off. At that point we opened the door for air...big mistake! NO more sleep. Party central. For me a great central location and great place, very reasonable price, fine brekkie...all ruined because SLEEP is VITAL on holiday!
We booked this last minute since it was halfway between Barcelona on our way to Madrid, to break up the drive. Was wonderfully surprised by Zaragoza-the plaza is a stunning mix of ancient churches and ruins, and a very modern fountain and shops. This hotel is steps away from this. The rooms were large and clean as was the bathroom. There is a small cafe attached which serves the typical breakfast (toast, croissants, ham and cheese) Staff quite pleasant.
