Went for conference, was happy to see same standard Of Hilton I have known. The restaurant on the ground floor offers the best steak you can find in Zagreb. The location is a bit off the center but there direct train connection if you don't want to drive. The area is populated by businesses & you can find quite a good number of nice cafe shops & restaurants nearby
A very nice hotel with great rooms and bathroom with both shower room and bath, free jacuzzi/hammam/sauna/gym/interior swimming pool with no extra cost (not easily to be found in hotels) with a great lady responsible for everything you might need. Her service is unique. Breakfast is also great with a plethora of things to eat and a very nice restaurant. Also, for those like me who don’t like taxis, you can easily hop everywhere around by tram 2 or 13. In 3 stops via tram 2, you are in the central bus station that takes you around Croatia or the Zagreb airport. Very convenient. Personnel friendly, servicing and quick. Cleaning personnel needs some practice: on day one they knocked the door at 8! Next day they didn’t come at all so I had to ask via reception (you just have to press a button inside the room for fixing the room or not opening the door). However it would be a pity to remove a star for this reason:)
We stayed two nights in this hotel (in a King Guest Room). The hotel itself is quite modern for the area and boasts a spacious restaurant and bar on the ground floor. The staff is extremely helpful and were always looking for ways to make your stay more enjoyable. The room we stayed in was a decent size for two people with a king-sized bed and large bathroom (with a standalone tub, shower and large sink area). The room, despite being on the 8th floor, did not boast views of much…the hotel is well-situated near a mall – but that is the extent of is around the hotel. There were some massive issues with the temperature of the water in all the taps – it fluctuated between lukewarm and cold (and warmer oddly with the sink tap turned on). We did not have the chance to mention this to management as we were on a tight schedule, however, this should be taken into consideration by the hotel as it was quite unpleasant, at times.
We stayed at the Doubletree for two nights and found it to be a clean, modern hotel with wonderful, pleasant, and helpful staff. Our room was clean and spacious and there was plenty of storage space if you need it. The bed was comfortable but i found the pillows to be too soft for my liking, the quality of sleep was still very good. We were on the 8th floor but there was not much of a view to speak of. We had a lot of trouble with the water temperature however and it was difficult to maintain a constantly warm shower. Somehow we found that running the sink tap at the same time as the shower produced better results than just running the shower, even with the tap at its hottest setting it only just managed to reach a comfortable temperature. We didn't get around to mentioning it to hotel staff as we were only there for two nights and were quite busy in-between. Also, when we did manage to have a shower the towels after were quite scratchy. Overall I would recommend that anyone try the Doubletree as it worth a go, there were just a couple of small problems that stopped it being perfect. If we were to visit Zagreb again we would consider staying here but would probably look for something closer to the city center.
This hotel is a bit out of town but near business district. Reception were friendly and gave out freshly baked cookies at reception. They insisted that I join the Hilton Honors loyalty programme which TBH I wasn't bothered about but did anyway. The room was spacious and clean. I liked the way the wardrobe's interior lit up when the door was opened. There was a minibar in the room along with tea/coffee facilities. The bed was comfortable with crisp sheets. There were bedside sockets for phone charging (thumbs up). No noise - not on the 8th floor at least. The internet was problematic. It wouldn't let me connect for the 1st hour. Once eventually connected the speed was only 9.7 Mb/s - pretty slow for a business hotel. The bathroom was spacious with both a bath tub and a shower. I couldn't find a hair dryer but there was a shaving mirror. No dressing gown. Individual toiletries. The toilet paper was exceptionally good quality. Breakfast was excellent with good hot and cold selection. The scrambled eggs were perfect. Orange juice was carton quality but there was black currant juice and berry smoothies available. I was cheeky and asked for a hot chocolate, and I'm glad because it was delicious! All in all very happy with my stay.
We were initially put in a very poor room, with 3 missing light bulbs, a broken shower door, a wobbly shower shelf, a non-functioning shaver point, very limited storage (or space), and for no obvious reason the TV on a large, immoveable and inconvenient pedestal at the foot of the bed. It turned out also, for no known reason, to be the ‘accessible’ room, complete with disability toilet. After much complaining we were moved to a much more acceptable room from the second night. This was still on the small side and with a shower that ran hot or cold at disturbing intervals. Both were masterpieces of ergonomic idiocy, with a frosted glass toilet room door, no mirror in easy reach of a hairdryer point, unnecessarily complicated light switches, and other marks of design for and by the male single traveller. In general this is not really suitable for the vacationer; it is more for the business/conference market. The hotel does have a large, excellent indoor pool on the tenth floor, together with a well- equipped gym, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, though, oddly no bar or refreshment service available, and the view from the loungers is only out over rather dreary high-rise residential blocks and business premises. The city centre and sights are no more than a 5 minute walk plus 10 minute (50p) tram ride away. Breakfast is OK, but no better. If you are in a hire car there is a good underground car park, but it costs about £15 a day. Reasonable value for what it offers.
Beautiful hotel, but our stay was totally marred by the lack of reliable hot water in the bathroom. My shower was lukewarm at best and my daughter's randomly switched between boiling hot and freezing cold. The internet service was also extremely slow. On a positive note, the welcome cookie was delicious, meals at the restaurant also excellent.
Zagreb is an old city with unique charm. The DoubleTree is an oasis of a hotel in this city. The staff is friendly and helpful, but it's the health club that is amazing. Located on the 10th floor, the infinity pool has a great view of the city. A swim in the pool at night with the city lights is spectacular. The fitness equipment is modern. It has both a sauna and steam room. Best workout facility of just about any hotel in which I've stayed. The staff is super!
the location is close to the bus stop. rooms are good size. good shower pressure. clean hotel. underground parking is convenient. friendly staff. a solid 3.5 star hotel if you're looking for a nice place to stay.
I stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton for 3 nights with my friend from Hong Kong in early September. The hotel is quite new and clean and the room we booked (superior king) is very spacious. The hotel is not located in the centre of town but accessible. Taxi ride to the city centre is within 10 minutes and costs around 30-35 kanas. We had dinner at the hotel on our day of arrival and the food is quite good. One good point to note is that all the plates and cups served at the restaurant are hot and clean and we also realised that the cups in the cupboard in the room are also warm. We took the hotel car service to the airport and was a comfortable ride. 140 kanas in a nice Mercedes. The only drawback is not to book a room that faces the street. We had a room on the 3/F on our first night and I can barely sleep as there is a lot of noise from the constant traffic on the fairly busy street facing the front of the hotel. The hotel was nice and changed a room for us on an upper floor facing the back which was very quiet and we had a good sleep for the rest of our stay.
