Hotel Pinija4.0 out of 5.0

Everything was OK but not really good value for money. I can't say nothing bad about the hotel or anything else, but not the standard I come to expect from 4 star hotel and that price. Been to similar price 4 star hotels and I have to say that Pinija is not close to the others.
I booked this hotel for one night and chose it because of the pool. The pool was out of order when I arrived. When I questioned why they didn't advise this to arriving guests the receptionist abruptly told me to send an email which I didn't get it. You have a guest complaining face to face and she tells you to send an email. Apparently it was out of order from a previous day and because I'm in the hospitality and have a good understanding of standards i would have expected them to inform the arriving guests. I was also giving a smelly room and no room move offered (maybe because I was staying only for one night they were like whatever). The smell was horrible (like a sewage) and got worse after taking the shower. It was room 426B. They sent an engineer and housekeeping to have a look at it but that didn't really help. Other negative points: * they are charging extra for the sun beds on the beach as well as the towels. I have traveled a lot and I've never experienced something like that. A guest pays £160 per night and you require him/her to pay additional for the bed and the beach towels. * staff couldn't care less- It was a ''no'' for everything before they even heard the answer. * WIFI didn't work in my room - neither for my friend. Also our networks didn't get signal and both of us were on different networks so it's definitely not the network or the phone issues. I guess that building has very tick walls. * it took a while to get an iron and when I called back to chase up I was told 20-30 mins more. That's a bit too long isn't it? * Too many kids - I guess it's more with families with small kids so can be a bit noisy The only good thing about this hotel was the buffet style breakfast - a big choice and tasted alright
Wonderfully beach in front of hotel... Pine forest to enjoy warm summer days in shadow. Crystal clear sea. Peable and stone beach. Ideally for sunbathing. Good sport and recreational facilities . Aqua sports, kayaking .SUP, swimming rowing and snorkeling Nerbay village Petrcane offera some good restaurants.
Nice and friendly staff, good food (the best was the seafood), clean rooms, nice beach. If they have some more music for adults to dance it would be great. The animation for kids seemed great. I will defenetly go again to Pinija ;)
When you arrive, the building looks like an old Eastern-European vacation resort. We booked a family room with sea view. The size of the room was definitely ok, the sea view fantastic. You get what you order. Watch out while booking, only three rooms per floor (the larger family rooms) actually face the sea front. The others are all on the side of the hotel. So you only might have sea view sideways, which is not exactly the same. In the bathroom there was a small ant colony. It seems strange that the cleaning staff missed this.
No special experience, good coctails, good food, clean room (but do not pay attention on small things in spite of getting tip, such as toilet paper), however somehow still seem to be old fashioned hotel left here from the 80s. Impossible to relax due to continuous children shouting, disaster.
This is a huge property, well outside the city limits of Zadar. The check in was quick and the room was comfortable. It had a small sit out, tv , wifi, hairdryer etc. It didn't have a kettle though, and since we were here just for a night I didn't think much of it. The breakfast buffet was lavish and dining area was huge. It was one of the best breakfasts I have had in Europe. There is a beautiful beach and there are beach chairs available on rent.Near the hotel there are shops selling beach-shoes and other such requirements. I would have definitely liked to stay here longer.
The hotel is located just a few steps to the beach. Nice beach, but quite windy sometimes. We rented bike from the hotel and strolled along the beach. Room was not big, but moderately ok. Clean bathroom. Overall nice hotel
Petrcane is beautiful and if you are an english speaker who wants to escape english speakers but still have no difficulty being understood, you will love this town of small bars and few restaurants. Pinija is a big hotel mainly for families on holiday but it is comfortable, friendly, clean, and a really nice place to stay for a few nights. We intended staying in Zadar which is just 12 km away but were turned off by the busy feel of it. There is a bus there from Petrcane. You will love the sea and harbour areas here. It is perfect for families and for people who want a quiet few days.
This hotel is very functional, but could do with some updates, mainly to the outside pool area which is cramped, and investing in sun umbrellas on the beach for guests as well as not having to pay for the sun loungers every day. Also, for a 4* hotel I think beach towels should have been supplied - we had to go and buy 2. If you have shoes for the water take them as there are a lot of rocks, and these will help you navigate into the sea. Finally, the food is very ordinary - we paid for half-board and ate out a couple of nights to escape the monotony. The hotel is in a very good spot, and walkable to the village which has about 10 restaurants. The sea is also beautifully clear. The rooms were very clean, and bathroom was well maintained (in fact it looked as if it was newly refurbished).
