The greatest. Staggering. Views across the clearest seas you’ll ever find to stunning mountain ranges. The people can not do enough for you, incredibly friendly and good fun. Terrific food, really way, way superior to English 5 star..... and with loads more personality. The spa is dreamy luxury. Every single thing the staff do is done with pride and attention to detail, with sparkle, warmth, humour and total professionalism. As for the sunsets..... I can’t begin to describe how amazing this place is. What a truly superb hotel. There is no point in me trying to impart tips - every aspect leaves me stunned. Gorgeous.
Stayed for only one night as part of the GranTurismo events. Check in was fairly quick with staff that was very friendly and smily. Room was very good, clean and big enough for two people without any problems. Just wish we had a room towards the sea, but hey, can't get everything. The pool is beautiful, and especially in night as the sun goes down, it's amazing. We had dinner at the BBQ restaurant, and the meats was superb! The lamb shops was the best I've ever had, and set the benchmark for the rest of the trip. Never found as good lamb shops during the trip, so my complements to the chef at Konoba Planika! Breakfast is, well, a hotel breakfast. Not much to say really, is was as you should expect, good. Would stay again, but, it is to far outside of Anything if your looking for nightlife. So this needs to be taking into account when you book.
A beautiful setting, a stunning hotel with exceptional service. We had spent 8 days traveling around Croatia and this was are treat for the end a bit of relaxing and doing nothing. As soon as we walked in to the hotel we were transformed into an oasis of calm and happiness. Check in was quick and easy and our car was parked for us ( not sure why we had to pay for parking as there is a load of room). We were allocated room 1470 and to be honest we never wanted to leave. The grounds are massive and when we were there mainly empty there are loads of chairs to sit on so no bum fights by the pools, within the grounds or by the sea, it’s so peaceful. The gym was excellent, the spa is fun - nudist which is different but the saunas are exceptional. Breakfast which was included in our price was magnificent. We eat once in the hotel for dinner buffet which was good and we had dinner in the room on the balcony which was better. There is a village about a 40 minute walk away along the front which has basic, cheap and ok restaurants. WiFi is free and good. The service was excellent, the whole hotel is very clean, could maybe do with a bit more hovering around the hall ways between rooms. To get to Zadar is easy an Uber cost me 89 Kronos there with a 7 minute wait and 86 back with a 3 minute wait. Around 25 minutes one way. The hotel is set in beautiful settings, it’s quite and definitely 5 star. Will be coming back for a long weekend as soon as we can.
Stayed at Falkensteiner - Iadera in a "senior suite", the only experiences we had went from "hmmm?" to "ugh!". It's a resort that's far away from Zadar, a point that was carped upon by numerous Uber and taxi drivers as they drove us on our numerous trips to Zadar,. the property is in Petračane, an isolated area where Falkensteiner has a captive audience. Which means that while most everything is highly overrated, nearly any alternative is about half an hour away, works well in the hotel's favour. The downright bad: 1) That infinity pool and that main pool area? We skipped it altogether after the first hour or so .. recommend that travellers insisting on using it, at least close their eyes. It's DOWNRIGHT FILTHY! Seems like it wasn't cleaned in years! 2) Restaurants to the side (owned and part of the property) have a choice between mediocre but friendly staff at the grill or; badly managed, overpriced at the fish restaurant staffed by people who cannot hold reservations correctly. The not so good: Unlike any luxury property we've stayed at, the staff really don't care much beyond the check in and check out process - getting the luggage from reception to room took about 20 minutes or so - to avoid the delay when checking out, we decided to take our luggage down ourselves. There was no offer of help to get the bags loaded into our car by the staff milling about the door, while my wife did it with the "help" of our toddler. - Our suite had a king sized bed, but the bedding (blankets, sheets) was essentially a sized to 2 children's sized bedding. Needed 3 calls to reception the following morning to get it changed. The good: - the hotel is at the edge of the sea and the grounds have various grass and trees. - Very Spacious suite
This was our first port of call on a 10 day trip to Croatia so we spent all 3 days in the hotel. This place ticked all the boxes. Great food, friendly staff, nice pool area and access to beach. If you are looking for somewhere to unwind for 2/3 days, it’s ideal. Would be 5* review except for issue with air conditioning where no cold air blows. Even with the balcony door open, it was still very hot in the room.
Dont get fooled into staying in this hotel. You will end up wasting your money for a disappointing experience. The facilities are not well maintained. Cleanliness of the breakfast area, beach area, pool areas are all super poor. Multiple bottles laying around. Rude staff at front desk. I dont understand how staff in such an expensive hotel can get away with their horrible attitude towards customers. So unhelpful. The main issue during our stay was the air conditioner. Wasnt working properly. They said due to their AC system all rooms are warm when the weather outside is cold so ACs only blow air but doesnt really blow any “cool” air. Huh?? Last time I checked this is the 21st century and I am paying loads of money to stay at your hotel. If I want a freezing room then I should get one because even renting apartments through Airbnb by the beach area in Zadar guarantee you a 10 times colder room. We escalated the matter to the hotel GM and he was friendly but didnt really do much. Upgraded us to a “better” room which turned out to be exactly the same. The funny thing is that when you complain to front-desk their response is “sir you can open the window its a lovely weather outside”. I mean we all come from different backgrounds so if you can sleep with an open window what makes you assume I can. Plus, the fact that their staff themselves are super annoying with their chatters, moving carts around the hallways, slamming doors aggressively so openings a window is not really the best idea ever. Bottom line is avoid doing this massive mistake and get yourself a cheaper, much nicer, cooler and colder room by renting one of the beach area apartments in Zadar.
Stayed for two days and enjoyed every second of it. Hotel room design is original, but every Falkensteiner room is special on its on way, food makes you question your boundaries and make you forget your diet decisions, scenery and sesaside are amazing, but the most valuable things are for sure people that work there and they make you feel special, pampered and welcome.
The hotel is located quite a distance from Zadar town itself, but is self contained within a resort complex. Many other hotels and residences are located nearby. The hotel grounds is huge with one of the walkway leading to the beach, and the main area showcases the swimming pool. Hotel is well equipped with the spa, though did not get the chance to try it. Rooms are nice with large balcony too. though i liked the open bathroom concept, it proved the be a challenge for my room mate and I. but after testing out the curtain separating the bedroom to the bathroom, we were at ease.
This place is unreal....two rectangle pools and one large pool right on the ocean. Beautiful long beach...nude part if you care..... Staff was great, breakfast was over the top. The room......WOW....total open concept bathroom...bumped into my roommate in the middle if the night in the bathroom...open concept. We both screamed. Anyhow. we had a beautiful balcony, nice big room, great beds...very comfortable. Beautiful grounds...flowers....just a beautiful place. We had one meal there which was great. One night we had bar food and that was very good also. Drinks unique and tasty. I can't not find one negative about this hotel. I loved our stay and hated to leave. Room Tip....we had a garden view, probably price related, ocean views were pretty nice.
I mean seriously, it's like they have a shot of 100% proof polite juice before they start work. To date the best hotel I've had the pleasure to stay in. Very impressed with the service from the friendly warm welcome to the busy, but always happy to oblige, breakfast crew, through to the sad (well, for us anyway) farewell. Stayed for a few days during mid-May, not all facilities around the fringes of the site were open such as boat hire, some kind of small supermarket and one of the restaurants. We assumed it was due to the time of year. There were three on site restaurants, two remote - one specialising in seafood, another serving steak and pizza, etc. and then there was the main restaurant in the hotel. If you're not driving, the main part of Petrcane is accessible via a pleasant 25 minute coastal walk. There are other dining options and stops for a regular bus going to and from Zadar, which isn't expensive at all. Have no complaints regarding the spa facilities, well designed, clean and not busy at all during our stay. There looked to be a sports facility/playing field under construction within the site. I regret not bringing any running kit. Now have to make up for all the great food and lounging about ;) There doesn't seem to be a classier place for miles and miles around. We plan to return in the future and hope the experience will do justice to the memories we took away.
