Stony and sandy beach. I recommend for families with children. Friendly service. Excellent cuisine. Waterslide. Great location near the historic city of Zadar. Beautiful surroundings. Always cleaned hotel. All inclusive.
Excellent Location, very friendly staff (especially Visnja at reception, Ivica, Ivan, Alen and Walter in the restaurant), excellent food, amazing sweets, very good Entertainment for children (Nadja, Valerija, Misela).
We stayed at this hotel for a week. It is an all inclusive hotel where they give you wrist bands to wear the entire time even the kids. Buffet style meals which are the sane every day. Large pool area. No real kids pool but there is a pool that is less deep (and heated) that most kids played in. That pool also connects to an indoor pool which was nice so we escape the sun for a bit with the kids. The hotel was on a mostly sandy beach which is rare to find in Croatia. We had a family suite which was nice. It had a balcony but no sea view. No kitchen. Small fridge. There is a playground in a shady area on the hotel premises. The kids club consists of an indoor playground area. There is no signing in your kid then leave. Most parents stay while their kid is playing. There are two doors that stay open leading into the indoor playground so kids are free to come and go as they please. A big shout out for this hotel: we went on vacation to celebrate our son's 5th bday. We didn't tell the hotel this. On his bday, when we got back from an excursion, there was a beautiful cake and note from the hotel wishing him a happy birthday. That meant the world to us. This is why I gave the hotel 4 stars.
My wife and I were supposed to stay at the resort's sister property, Falkensteiner Adriana, but due to technical issues, we were asked to stay here instead. No complaints about that! Our room was enormous, beautiful, and comfortable. The setting and scenery of the resort are fantastic, and the all-inclusive food and beverage option was very convenient and a great value. It is also conveniently located. I would highly recommend anyone to vacation in Croatia, and specifically at the Falkensteiner!
Anton on reception gave us a great welcome. Monika was really helpful too. The food selection was good and very fresh. It catered for meat and fish lovers, vegetarians and some vegan options. There were a great range of every sort of salad. The wine and cola were a bit dicey, but a word to the food and drink manager sorted that and he checked each day to make sure that we were satisfied. The wifi was as fast as my fibre broadband at home and that goes for in the rooms as well as the reception so that was good. The rooms were large, airy and bright with good blackout curtains and the maids were friendly and did a very good job. The room was quiet at night when you want it to be and had a good balcony and drying rack for swimming costumes etc. The swimming pools were many and at the start of June we thought we may have to mainly use the indoor one, but alas all were temperate and enjoyable. You can swim from the indoor pool with periodic jacuzzi cycles at one side through to the outdoor pool! There was also a very large curly slide outdoors, which was taller than a house! There are two pool staff who patrol all three large pools and the beach area adjacent to the pools so therefore if a little rascal decides to block the slide or climb up it from the bottom, you need to be vigilant. When I highlighted this to the management behind the reception desk, they did get the pool staff to concentrate their vigilance on the slide for a period of time. The spa complex has a kiddie hour from 9-10am so that it is kid free for the rest of the day. The spa has a sauna, steam room, lounge etc. You can get complimentary flip flops to use and keep and borrow a bath robe for your stay, which you just swap for a new clean one as and when you like. The main clientele of the hotel were Austrian and German guests, but as Ryanair fly to Zadar now, there are starting to be more British guests.
Really good structure close to the sea and nice swimming pools. Nice restaurant and huge food choices. People very friendly and lots of extra excursions. Easy also to reach Zadar town center full of history and nice pubs.
What a fantastic place. We were warmly welcomed after a late flight. Our room had a sea/pool view. The staff had left bread, meat, cheese and fruit and water in our room. Lovely to get at 1am. Breakfast was amazing. Everything you can think of was there. Lunch was great too. Lots of hot and cold food. I loved the salad bar. It was full of every salad you can think of. Drinks were great but the wine was a little sweet for me. Cocktails were nice. Gin and tonic was perfect. Bar closed at 10pm but another bar near reception was open until midnight. Pool was cold but I braved the water slide! Sea was even colder bit it was only May. Taxi to town was about 10euro. Hotel will happily call you one. On checkout, we were told we could use all the facilities and have lunch. Very nice young man told us we were their guests until we leave for the airport. Dinner was ok, similar to lunch but a huge range of food. Be sure to leave a tip for the restaurant staff. They are friendly and hard working. Place spotless too. Indoor pool is lovely. You can swim outside from inside. Overall, a great stay and I will be back.
We stayed at the hotel three nights during the May 1st with two small children in the family room. The room is a bit old but tidy and clean so we were satisfied. The staff is extremely friendly and the all inclusive service is great. Foods are abundant even for the most desirable. We bathed in the warm pool and sunbathed on the sun loungers. The hotel is easy to find and the room offers a wonderful view. We certainly enjoyed it and hopefully come again.
Area around the hotel is huge! Lot of trees, parks full of birds. Our room had a beach view and a view on the park that was full of birds, mostly common blackbirds that are great "singers" :). Food for breakfast and lunch is excelent with wide variety of meat, fish and something for vegetarians. Fruits, pancakes with nutella.....different juices, beer, wine. Very helpful and pleasant staff in all parts of the hotel. Room was a nice one, clean and with balcony. Bed was comfortable for me. Bathroom was good as well and looked like it was recently refurbished. All in all, a nice stay, especially when it is paid by the company!
We visited this hotel at Easter break with our 3 children age 10, 8 yrs and 2 mths old baby. Stayed in a large family room. The room was very much run-down, in need of total refurbishment. Double bed is good size and comfortable. Sofa in the living area is a joke, looks and feels like one from the '60s. The kids slept in a bunk bed that was squeezed into a 'hole' really. They could have added a little bit more space and a proper door to it. The view was great, so as the location. Food was ok, some days great sea food, other days simple dishes of a (bad) school canteen quality. Staff are not friendly at all. I don't think this chain have a real competitor in the Zadar therefore they don't really care about their Customers. Even with their bad attitude towards Customers the hotel is usually full I guess because of its location a spa facilities. When the hotel is full, prepare yourselves for very long queues in the restaurant, unless you go really early. Overall this hotel is ok, easy to navigate in it with a small baby, but I don't think we'd ever re-visit.
