The man working was very friendly and helpful, but I only ever saw one person working and I think he was kept very busy. Two of the three times I went to reception it was unattended and I had to wait at least 5 mins for him to show up. I only booked a one night stay and had mixed feeling about this place. It’s in a great location and I had a very big room with everything I needed and a great view. However if you looked closely it was a bit rough around the edges; cracks in the ceiling, mould in the shower, lampshade hanging skew and loads of dust under the bed and on the couch and stairwell. I only mention these things because of the price I paid, which was the same as a night I paid for a 5 star hotel in central Taipei.

View from the room was amazing!! Waking up to the beauty of sun moon lake was definitely the best part of the hotel. Good things first, the hotel is super close to the Main Street is that area, so there are lots of choices for eating and buying gifts. The hotel breakfast was also really good - recommend getting in included in your package, it’s way cheaper added on than getting it added after and the coffee is good. Another good thing is that it says double bed on the website but when we got there it was actually a king bed! Which was a great surprise and we had a great night sleep. Cons - cleanliness definitely needs to be improved on. If you just sit and look around there are lots of dust accumulating on the windowsill and on the armrest of our sofa. Bathroom was acceptable but I wouldn’t take a bath in the bathtub. Also the condition of the hotel itself needs to be updated a bit more - peeling paint, wallpaper, cheap flooring and cracked tiles in the bathroom. If you have an eye for detail then this probably will bother you but if you’re not too hard to please then definitely give this hotel a try! Another note, they don’t have parking on premises and the parking lot they work with is around 5 mins away - I suggest if you’re driving, call in advance and figure out where it is so you don’t get stuck trying to u-turn like we did after realizing there is no parking in front of the hotel!
