Always try to stay at this hotel when i am visiting York it has friendly staff great rooms and is in a fantastic location .Its just a short walk to the city centre with some excellent pubs and places to eat .

We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay, the rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. We could hear some noise at night but not enough to bother us. Breakfast was simple but good. The location is great only a quick 10 min walk to get into the center of York. We would stay here again.

Booked for one night by my boyfriend for my birthday. Only good thing about the hotel is it's location. We paid over £100 for the night, over priced but he did book it through Parking isn't included and neither is breakfast. The room is dated with many soiled items. Free WiFi though and comfy beds. But I've been in premier inns for cheaper and had more in the room. The rooms are too basic. Keetle, TV and a desk fan included but I couldn't get my legs under the desk to do my makeup with and I'm not exactly tall. No full length mirror as we was going our for the night. Won't return or recommend.

Mistake with the booking. Ended up with a Smoking room. The smell was horrendous. We had to buy air freshener and keep spraying every couple of hours. Being a non smoker the room was very un pleasant. Did not know hotel allowed smoking in any rooms. Hotel a bit untidy with unusual access

This is well sited next to the river and only a short walking distance to most attractions. There is a restaurant and bar. We had a ground floor room to the right of reception which was quiet enough . We overlooked the street behind the hotel rather than over the river but it was fine. Room was pleasant and clean enough, tidied every day with fresh towels if required. Tea/coffee/biscuits replenished daily. Quite basic but as a base, it’s been fine. Bed was comfy, in fact teenage son struggled to get out of his! I would return.

Treated myself to lovely hotel including breakfast and dinner. Excellent location on the Ouse River near the Bridge. Ebor York Races this weekend but still felt I received personal attention. Lovely front staff greated me after a late arrival and the room was clean and perfect for a three day stay. Lovely bathroom size. Breakfast and dinner had options for every palate and each dish impressed. Excellent food services.

I stayed for 3 nights with my mother. Lovely peaceful hotel, spacious room, very clean, very comfortable beds, great shower, excellent breakfast and friendly attentive and helpful staff. I loved sitting on the balcony from the bar watching the boats on the river. I would definitely recommend and I will be back. A big thank you to all the staff x

Stayed at hotel for one night, service was excellent, and all staff very friendly. Booked superior room with river view, room very clean ,bed comfortable, bathroom excellent, could have done with air conditioning in rooms although our room had a fan in it and this helped. The location of the hotel is situated along the river and it was relaxing and quiet .Would rate this hotel as we have booked for next year now

Well situated, clean, with very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Large double room (smoking). Breakfast was beautiful. A lot better than the more expensive hotel we stayed in last week in York. We will definitely stay again

The hotel location and view are superb. Our room was lovely to look at and located in a good spot for us due to my husbands health - Room 2-however as we settled down for the evening we heard what we thought was rattling pipes, we called reception who then realised that is was the opening and closing of the carpark gate. This obviously happened again the next morning quite early. The let down for us here was the reception staff when I first enquired about something before booking and the I am not bothered attitude of the woman (about the carpark shutter) on reception when we left this morning. It wouldn't put us off returning as we would ask for a different room, I would just prefer more understanding in future
