Originally part of the historic property at 24 Alma Street, this thoughtfully converted barn has been transformed into a cozy two-storey home in Yarmouth’s downtown Historic District. Enjoy modern comforts including two private balconies, a covered seating area, free on-site parking, and laundry. The upper level features vaulted ceilings, a king-sized bed, and a unique private retreat separate from the main living space. All within walking distance of cafés, shops, and local amenities.

This unique two-storey home was thoughtfully converted from an original historic barn, blending modern comfort with carefully preserved character. During the restoration, great care was taken to respect the building’s original form and charm rather than forcing it into a perfectly square footprint. As a result, guests may notice a slight lean in some interior walls. A subtle and authentic reminder of the structure’s age and history.

All structural improvements were professionally engineered and approved, including the installation of a full foundation and a new support beam system. These upgrades ensure the home is safe, solid, and comfortable, while still honouring the barn’s original design and craftsmanship.

The home offers excellent comfort year-round, with energy-efficient heat pumps on each level and spray foam ceiling insulation that helps maintain consistent indoor temperatures.

The home features an open-concept main level with a kitchen, living area, and entryway, along with a fully enclosed bathroom. Upstairs is an open-concept bedroom retreat with a striking high-peaked ceiling, king-sized bed, laundry area, and dedicated office space.

The living area has a Sofa Bed - queen sized, and can accommodate two guests if required.

Utilities are discreetly housed beneath the staircase and are accessed by our team only. The home is equipped with an on-demand electric hot water system. To ensure optimal performance, we recommend avoiding simultaneous high-demand hot water use (such as running the washer while showering).

When using the shower, please set the bathroom fan to “turbo” mode to quickly manage moisture.

Gravel parking is located directly in front of the main entrance. Please park as close to the building as possible to allow space for up to four vehicles if needed. If you have visitors, we kindly ask that they use nearby street parking or the town parking lot, both of which are free for stays longer than two hours.

The backyard is for your use and enjoyment. If you are traveling with pets, we kindly ask that any pet waste be picked up promptly to help keep the space clean for everyone.
