The hotel is in the city, not too in the center. It is far from the airport, about 40-45 minutes by taxi. There is an airport shuttle bus station at the entrance of the hotel which is very convenient but it is about 1.5 hours till the airport as it stops at several locations. The shuttle departs at different fixed timing. The hotel is near to a residential estate with restaurants, shops and a small supermarket. Beware that these businesses close by 8:30pm. The hotel is also located near the seaside where there is a road to access to it. My room was on the 33rd floor. The view was superb because it has a window with city view and another smaller window with sea view. The room has dark furniture. It does not have enough light making the room dark. The corridor is long and only one dimmed light which is not enough. The closet has no light on one side where you hang your clothe, coupled that it is made of dark colour wood, I was not able to see properly whether I took all my clothes with me on the departure. The air condition was a central one and it was too warm for a summer with thick blanket. Some plugs are not working. The breakfast is adequate and has all the basic food required. Service was not too good. I requested for a cappuccino but the girl attending the breakfast served me normal black coffee. I told her to change but she seemed not understand and went away. She went to ask one of her senior colleague who went away. I thought she passed the message to her colleague and that I will have my coffee. However I waited and waited, no cappuccino. I then called her senior colleague and complained about it. She finally understood my request and went to finally serve me with a cappuccino! At check out, the service was slow. Asking for an invoice takes a lot of time.
Once again, I stayed in this fabulous hotel. The rooms with sea-view are excellent. The Bay of Bohai is directly in front of the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and qualified. In the night, I ordered a Beef Tenderloin to the room. Superb!! I like the private atmosphere at the club floor during breakfast time or for meeting with business partners.
The hotel is located in a newly developed district about 10 kms away from Yantai downtown. This hotel was opened years ago so the decoration is somewhat worn out in some rooms but renovation is under progress so it is not a problem. If you found the room is not good enough, just ask for change. The view is very great especially on the high floors. Different from some sea view hotels in downtown, it is more clear and quiet here. Another good part is, you could drive your car onto the beach directly, which is not possible in downtown because of the beach parks. Parking is free and easy. And if you fly to Yantai, there is shuttle bus servie connecting this hotel and the airport. The executive louge is very good, providing smoking area and nice food. And the view is also great facing the sea. The service here meets the standard of Crowne Plaza. The stuff are very friendly and helpful in this mature hotel. There are 2 shopping centers here about 5 minutes drive from the hotel. So if you want to have dinner out or have a cup of starbuck coffee, it is easy to get. And the traffic is much much better than in downtow. My advice for tourist is, it is a good idea to drive here and have a nice weekend in the hotel. July and August is not a good time but the rest months are great. I lived here in all seasons and the experience is great all the time.
I believe the Tripadvisor is a website where I find the generous reviews about anything related to travel that's why I just love to write here:-) Recently I had traveled to Yantai and was very frustrated as by being away from home after sometime we all remember our home or country food. I was desperately in a search of Indian food and finally due to someone's efforts I found Hotel Crowne Plaza Yantai Seaview. The hotel is fantastic with best view of some part of city, sea and its food. I'm not writing anything about rooms as I have not stayed. There is a buffet of verity food which includes Indian food as well. I met the magician I mean the chef Mr.Omparkash whom I have named as my "Ratatouille" as he surprised me by cooking the most delicious Indian food which I have had so far, especially more spicy chicken gravy for me as I wanted. Such a down to earth person he is... Now I'm back but again hungry and missing that food :-( so one who visits Yantai must visit this place too for such a lovely evening. The cost of food varies as per the weekdays.
I spent two days based at the hotel, with a marvellous sea view from the 27th floor. The room was large and had every possible amenity - even an ironing board. The lifts were a speedy dream - frequent, fast and smooth - so being high up was no disadvantage. The dinner was a buffet with every possible taste catered for, and breakfast was also great. The service was immaculate, and all in all I reckoned this was fully worth its five stars
We stay here only for one night. But we already sure that we will come back again. The room was big and absolutely clean. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. English speaking no problem. The breakfast was a huge choice of different kind of food. Definitely also western people can find many choices to eat. The view from our room in 33th floor was perfect. We even can see the beach. We are very happy to come back in summertime when it is more warm and better for swimming
The room was surprisingly huge. Modern design room with good quality bed and pillows. Location is ok and it's not too far from the beach (walking distance). Breakfast has very high quality impressive spread. Nothing much I can comment on the service as I was there for only 1 night.
Excellent hotel, with first class amenities in Yantai, just a little far away from the town. I use the hotel for business mostly, but also for leisure. The breakfasts are superb, as it the gym with a 30m swimming pool and fully equipped gym. The beach is close, as is the promonade so it is good to access for runners.
The view was really nice - it was a bit foggy but still (stayed there during winter). Relatively good spa section. I really enjoyed the breakfast, great variety of food (both Chinese and Western). My room was modern and clean - upper floor. Front desk was a little bit slow but for me it is not a deal breaker at all.
That's really a big, comfortable hotel. The rooms directing to the sea have a great view on the shore. Unfortunately some areas of the hotel need some renovation. The airconditioners in the rooms are either making funny noises or are not working at all.
