Yandoit Church - Stayz Award Winner!
The Yandoit Church built-in 1884 by Giacomo Satori served the local Swiss-Italian community until 1993.
Beautifully refurbished in 2016 it is now an award-winning property that can be enjoyed by those looking for an exceptional country getaway, only 15 min from Daylesford and 20 min to Castlemaine.
The church nave acts as the generously proportioned centrepiece of the home and includes remnants of the original hand-painted friezes, a massive vaulted ceiling and Gothic windows. A Lopi wood-heater sits centrally in the stunning open plan living area, whilst your entertainment needs have been thought of with a 55" FHD curved O-LED smart TV. The adjoining designer kitchen with reverse-cycle air-conditioning offers not only a spectacular location to prepare meals, but sweeping views across adjoining farmland to Mt Franklin.
The new 2 storey wing comprises 3 bedrooms with a spacious master bedroom on the ground floor featuring a luxurious en-suite with a stone bath and rural views. Original artworks, textiles and ceramic pieces adorn the rooms and enhance this unique property.
A handcrafted, floating timber and steel staircase leads to the 2 upstairs bedrooms and central bathroom. All rooms have enormous double-glazed windows which bring the adjoining farmland and nearby bushland into every room. Built-in robes, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and ceiling fans in every bedroom offer the perfect long-stay set-up.
A large deck provides a direct connection to the kitchen and the bedroom wing, as well as offering ample entertaining space and a triple grill gas barbecue. Comfortable deck chairs are provided to position either on the deck or anywhere in the half-acre garden that surrounds this historic property.
Pops of colour and texture blend with oak floors, stone finishes and remnant paintworks in the nave. The property is a testament to style and grace. It is a fine example of sympathetic, yet modern, renovation of a building that has been rescued from ruin.
