Check in at 15:30, it took me an hour with about 50 people in lobby waiting check in, there is a international big meeting in Xiamen early September therefore the security was very tight, the problem is 1. we told by counter only 2 staff know how to check in even there were about 6 people around 2. Everyone need to take photo but the machine was broken down, so down to one camera and desk top to do the job, then about 45 min later one staff turn up and just reset another machine it worked again, 3. So many people in the lobby but did not see anyone try to help or clam down the customer, 4. I am accor member but the priorty line was full of other people therefore serve no purpose. 5. I was given a room but I am not being asked it end up a smoking room full of bad smell, good thing is I asked to change room after dinner I have a non smoking room
My husband and I stayed for a week on business. The Hotel is well appointed and rooms spacious and clean. Lovely lake views and city lights at night. Breakfast was vast and catered for many differing tastes. Concierge staff were fantastic! They helped organise taxis and helped translate many times. It is located a bit further away from the walking street but they were very helpful in arranging taxis to wherever I wanted to go.
Business trip to Xiamen for 1 night only. Hotel is located in the centre area, rooms with the lack view in the higher floor. Room is clean and comfortable and the services are fair enough. However, I made a 2 rooms booking and I reminded the receptionist that I should have 2 rooms points on my account, and finally I only got one. Sent them an email and ask for the follow up but there is no reply then. I think they need to reinforce their follow up servicing.
The property is relatively new and well maintained. Decor is clean and modern. The beds and pillows are worthy of people who need extra back support. Rooms face the river (lake) and one gets a lovely view when the sun rises and during the night when the lights are reflected off the water. Breakfast is very good with a healthy mix of Chinese and Western dishes. The restaurant overlooks a nice garden. The surrounding of the hotel is a park setting which runs along the river (lake) bank. There really isn't very much around the hotel save for a really good seafood restaurant 50m down the road from the rear entrance of the hotel. Service is pleasant although I must say that the staff are overworked and long queues form during check in and check out times. Over the three occasions I stayed in the hotel, I had to wait a long time in line. People trying to cut queue and the staff indulging them out of politeness can really deter me from staying there again in the future. One has to present his room card before entering the lift lobby, and once in the lift one has to tap his card on the lift sensor before selecting one's floor to operate the lift. Why they do this I cannot understand though I do appreciate the effort for added security.
They have too much security doesnt feel like home. They need to train their guards and concierge to be more hospitable. Have double standards for the guests. Far away from walking streets and restaurants. Slow receptionist
wouldn't stay here again was not close enough to restaurants and cafes. the rooms were in need of updating as getting a little tired and our room wasn't tidy had to get a maid in to vacuum the floor when we arrived. staff weren't as friendly or professional as other accor branded hotels ive stayed in.
Big cavernous lobby is more functional and industrial tan relaxing, but the staff are friendly, attentive and professional and the rooms clean and modrn. Good fitness room and pool, nice views of water, and club lounge is quiet and has good internet speed.
This was my second stay at this hotel. Staff were incredibly obliging! One, I think she was the guest relations manager, went out of her way to ensure I was attended to at all times - popping by during breakfast, and again during the evening. And Jimmy in the Executive lounge? What a star! Customer service second to none. Absolutely outstanding, a credit to the Hotel, to Xiamen, and to China. The hotel itself is completely up to Pullman standards, with an executive floor that operates beyond that level. For that reason, and because of the staff, I will be back.
We went for a dinner buffet there. We have been to many different ones, but this one is the most fresh one. There is not much food, but variety and freshness makes it the best one! Sushi were the tastiest we have tried in Xiamen. Mainly people order a small seafood hot pot, which was also good. There are also some western food, good wine, but deserts could be better and more different kinds. Price per persone, if you are not in-house guest, is 300 yuan each.
Our family spent 4 nights at Pullman and requested pick up at the airport. The hotel sent a concierge staff to accompany the driver to make sure the pick up is trouble free. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the service were the best you can get from a up market hotel. The only minor oversight was being an Accor Plus member we did not get a room upgrade which seems happen to other previous reviewer. The surrounding of the hotel is beautiful and is good for a morning walk along the lake. There is no problem with public transport as there is a bus stop right across the hotel and the bus is not overcrowded. The key shopping mall is just 15 minutes by bus.
