Nestled amongst the gums on the corner of The Boulevard and Karingal Avenue in Wye River, Fern Cottage is absolutely charming.
Neat and incredibly well maintained, this weatherboard beach home overlooks a peaceful fern gully that gently slopes towards the ocean. Tranquil sounds of the birdlife, trickling water, crashing waves combine in harmony.
The home itself is two story offering open plan living downstairs and two lofted bedrooms flanking the lofted ceiling above. Other features include a cosy wood fire, filtered ocean views, wrap around balcony and all the coastal character you expect from a cottage by the sea. Add in the short stroll down to the Wye River beach, Pub and General Store and you'll find Fern Cottage has all the qualities of a magical getaway.

Rustic bushland retreat
A rustic cottage with large balcony to enjoy the bushland where we were joined by a local kookaburra and cockatoo. Small view to the water. Bottle of wine to greet us was appreciated. Main bed comfy. Sadly only stayed 1 night out of 3, due to earthworks construction right next door starting at 8am. Not the owner's fault but should advise anyone staying.

The cabin was beautiful although the pics are quite deceiving when it comes to the size. We had a wonderful stay and definitely ovrrpacked. The area was gorgeous. We needed to drive to the beach as it would be an extremely hard walk for those not in peak physical condition.

Lovely spot
We had a lovely time at Fern Cottage. We found Wye River to be the perfect spot for a family beach holiday with a relaxed beach setting and a great kiosk and hotel for takeaway food, dine-in meals and general groceries.
The cottage itself is very much as advertised. It’s a comfortable place to stay and quite charming and cosy.
We experienced some inconvenience when our tank water ran out and we were without running water for over 24 hours. However, the property managers were LOVELY and worked super hard to get tank water trucked in as soon as possible.

The most beautiful family getaway cottage!!!
This has been one of our most comfortable little
Getaway experiences we’ve had, we decided to book Fern Cottage for a family retreat (3 kids ages 6,4,2) stayed 3 nights! It was clean, inviting, kid friendly, well equiped, fantastically located and super comfortable!! We loved every second of our stay and strongly recommend for families and they’ve thought of everything!! The book shelf was as hit with our crew!! thank you so much for having us!!

Lovely location
Wye River is such a special spot, and this house is in a wonderful location. We really enjoyed our stay, doing lots of walks. The house is tidy, the beds very comfortable and it was toasty warm with the wood fire. The photos aren’t fully accurate as the place is quite small and there is little storage. The furnishings and linen are a little old, but that didn’t bother us. Providing a few small extras to make pausing guests feel a little more welcome would be a nice touch to round out a good stay. Thank you.

Bush haven by the sea
This cottage was perfect for our family. Ideally located within the bush, which made it peaceful and private, with views of the sea. Wye River walks are stunning and the sea was refreshing, but bring a wetsuit! Abundant wildlife too - echidnas, koalas, birds and reptiles. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed. Would love to come back one day.
