We stayed at Basecamp over New Years. The location was great for us, walking distance to the main square.
The reception was easy to find and on check in the receptionist was very helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed the 24hr self serve mini-mart that’s a nice touch and having a restaurant on-site is useful.
The room itself was a good size and nicely decorated and we appreciated the blackout blinds. Some things that could be improved were: the shower heads needed cleaned as water was only coming out of a few of the holes and spraying in all directions, there was toothpaste all down the side of the wall beside the sink. In the kitchen area the sink drain had an unpleasant smell and the wine glasses were dirty.
It wasn’t clear when using the lifts that depending on which one you used it would take you out to a different place, we ended up outside in an courtyard area and it wasn’t clear how to get back to main reception.
There was a quite a lot of noise during the night until about 3.30/4am but it was NYE so this can be forgiven. At check-out the receptionist wasn’t at the desk and we had to shout for someone to attend to us and they were not the friendliest, however I appreciate it was 5am. Maybe a Dropbox for keys would be better at the desk for really late/early checkouts!
