Lovely place for a wedding reception, good sized Canaletto Suite, accommodation if ne essary for travelling guests, good parking, easy to find, very helpful staff. I have numerous food issues and they helped enormously. Was so grateful for their assistance.
Stayed one night in the Cairnsmore suite in the courtyard, plush spacious room with mezzanine lounge, nice bathroom with good shower and large bath, tv in bedroom and lounge. Good hairdryer.(Just one bit of feedback a mirror over the dressing table would be good , as there are no mirrors near an electrical socket for hair drying). Fan in the bedroom to keep you cool, Iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. Comfortable bed, fluffy bath robes and good toiletries.Excellent breakfast continental and hot food available. Complimentary entry to Woburn gardens and discount available for Woburn abbey just 20 minute pleasant walk away also discount for Woburn safari park. Great service from all the staff excellent attention to detail nothing too much trouble for them and they make sure everything is just right.Great service from all, a credit to the hotel. A definite return if in the area again.
The hotel certainly benefits from its location next to the safari and facing the quaint high street of Woburn. However, for the price I paid I don't think it was reflected in the experience. The room was nice, the hotel was nice and the staff were ok. I don't have much more to say beyond 'nice'.
We had a lovely overnight stay in the main hotel building we had asked for a quite room and were given a room at the back and very kindly upgraded. We ate in the hotel restaurant and had a lovely meal and breakfast was very good, very friendly efficient staff throughout the hotel. We would stay again if in the area. It was cool when we stayed so no problem sleeping, however, don't understand the comments on this site re ac, this isn't usual in the UK even in 4 star hotels unless they are modern and chain hotels, which this isn't, even hotels of that type don't always have ac.
We returned to Woburn Hotel for our first wedding anniversary. We also stayed there on the night of our wedding in Wispers Cottage... and Jackie Spence at the hotel kindly upgraded us to Wispers Cottage when we returned for our first anniversary which we thought was a lovely gesture. The staff there are so helpful and polite... it always feels like there's nothing that they wouldn't do for you! The cottage was lovely and they even placed an anniversary card in the room for us which was a pleasant surprise :-) The breakfast in the morning was superb... there is a nice variety of continental or full english items on offer! Another perk when you stay there is that you can obtain a discount on tickets to Woburn Safari Park if you ask them for a discount card at reception :-)
We were at a family wedding nearby and were told that we would be getting preferential room rates at £180 a night for a double room as part of the wedding party. Which we booked well over a year ago and had to pay £60 deposit to secure the room. The balance was payable a month before our stay there. However if you google the hotel, offers of rooms at £122 a night pop up! So it appears the preferential rates were to charge the wedding party guests considerably more than anyone else! The wedding was at 12 but check in wasn't until 2pm, so it was quite tricky sorting luggage & transport etc. The room was clean and had everything you could ask for and the bed was comfy. However, the noise, that is another matter. There was an event at the hotel and it was very noisy, we were woken at regular intervals throughout the night by the noise of people at their celebration. They must have been coming out of the reception and standing very near to our window and were making such a lot of noise, right up until around 3am. The breakfast was wonderful. Cooked very well and a great selection. So all in all a
Stayed at this wonderful property for 2 night and I have to say that it's just amazing and the wonderful countryside of Woburn. The staffs were great and polite. The breakfast was great too. If I have to be picky, I would like to have an air condition in the room for use in summer as during my stay the nights were a bit warm. 😊
Stayed at the Woburn Hotel for the British Grand Prix this weekend, the hotel was lovely and in a nice village location. Had a walk to a local pub for a drink and lunch on arrival. The room was very nice although quite warm as there was no air con, but had all the usual amenities and decor to a nice standard. Had dinner in the Oliviers restaurant which was really nice. The food was excellent and the staff very good. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice and well stocked hot food selections. The staff were obviously well aware that there were many 'silverstoners' staying over and happy to accommodate early check out etc if required. Would definitely recommend and will be back if we are in the area in the future, hopefully for another Grand Prix at Silverstone!!
I stayed here the night before a meeting with a few of my colleagues and it was a really pleasant stay. I stayed in the Chinese Room and it was a really nice room. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning but a fan was provided. Due to Woburn being relatively quiet anyway, having the window open all night provided a fresh air breeze without any noise disturbance. The food at the hotel was really nice and I would recommend this to everyone.
Stayed in 'Whispers' cottage on the hotel grounds opposite the hotel entrance and a very busy road. Not the hotels fault but it was noisy with taxi's dropping off etc. The room itself was clean, spacious and had a first floor office/lounge area. There are some negatives and improvements needed: Hairdryer - needs replacing, it got barely warm and was slow. Bathroom Bin - broken, the lid didn't open needs replacing. Air con - didn't exist instead we had noisy fan. Not usually an essential in UK but as this was a very warm spell it was definitely needed. Bathroom in general - needs updating. The painted timber bath panel was tired, the toilet didn't flush properly, the shower was only ok. When paying the prices we paid, we did expect these things to be in good order. Finishing on a positive- the food for our group of 20 was excellent, the serving staff and reception staff all excellent. They arranged a birthday cake to feed 20 at short notice. The breakfast is very good, not too much choice but all very good quality. If I go to Woburn again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
