Great Ski House

We did a family ski trip with ~20 family members of all ages. The place is beautiful, the layout is awesome, and the location can't be beat if you're trying to ski Windham (8 minute drive to the mountain). The décor is roosters - the kids had fun trying to count them all! Highly recommend.

Amazing Family Getaway Home!!

The Mountain House was the perfect home to accommodate a few families and their children! The house is huge with a lot of rooms and bathrooms to give each family their own dedicated space. And then the common area and game room in the basement and the living room on the main floor are great areas for everyone to hang out. But our favorite was the enormous dining room table where we could all sit for meals, play games, talk, and do activities with the kids. We also enjoyed the hot tub, sledding in the backyard, building a fire and sitting by the fire pit, and skiing, hiking, and tubing down in the town of Windham which is only a few minutes away. Also plenty of restaurants to eat in or take out from nearby. And the host, Derrek, could not have been better! Very responsive before, during and after our stay and even dropped off some kitchen items we were running low on. I have to disagree with some of the recent reviews too. The house temperature was very comfortable (Nest thermostats everywhere), the WiFi was great, and the photos really don't do this house justice - they have updated a lot and there is so much space throughout the house. Our family will definitely be coming back!

Family getaway

We enjoyed a lovely time with our family at this house. The house is beautiful and we were so happy that it was big enough to fit our large group, with almost everyone getting their own room. We really appreciated the dining table being long enough that we could all sit down for meals together. The kids loved the pond and we spent lots of night around the fire pit. The only real downside was that this property listing states it has air conditioning, which it does upstairs (not that it worked very well), but not at all in the basement, which is where half the rooms are. We were there during an extremely warm weekend, and not only did the main living space not cool down below 79 degrees for a few days, but one of the upstairs bedrooms was in the 80s and we couldn’t get it to cool down at all. That room was uninhabitable. The basement rooms got increasingly warm throughout the day, and while it cooled off at night, we were worried about leaving sliding doors open because of bears. Overall this was a great house with lots of amenities, and we really enjoyed our time, but I would probably not choose to stay in the summer going forward.

Great for a large family

My extended family (14 adults) and I stayed here for 2 nights as a family reunion before attending a conference in New York City. It's a pretty far drive from the city for just 2 nights - if you have more time, it's not so bad. If our budget had allowed it, we probably would have stayed closer to the city so we didn't have to drive as far. But we were all glad to be able to stay in one place which was fun. Loved using the firepit and sitting on the deck and by the pond in the mornings. You can tell from the photos that the house itself is a bit outdated but it was fine for a few days. The wifi was a little spotty at times for a large group but not a major issue. Derrek and his team were friendly and accommodating. The check-in process was easy with a keypad at the garage. They were just a text away with any questions or needs. There was a lengthy checkout list which we thought was a little extensive given how high the cleaning fee was priced but we made do with a large group of everyone pitching in to ensure we get the refundable deposit back. The Windham area is beautiful - lush bright green in the summer with tons of trails nearby (and of course skiing in the winter). A few restaurants and corner stores. Not much else though but that's the point, to be a bit more disconnected.

Perfect House for a Big Group

We absolutely loved our stay at this Property. We had ~20 people and did not feel crowded at all. Everyone had beds and the house was built for groups of this size! Also tucked away with minimal neighbors and a huge backyard. 10/10 will be back!

Great Short Stay

We had a great stay at the house. The pond was fun and the pebbly beach/shallow walk in area made it more fun for the babies and toddlers than a regular pool would've been. Kitchen was well stocked, and lots of bedrooms and hang out areas. Derrick was a perfect host - always super responsive and helpful with any questions. Would happily stay again!

Great weekend in Wyndham

I spent three days, two nights at the Mountain House with a bunch of friends and family. We all had a fantastic time. The house is huge and easily accommodated the 12 of us. It was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. The location is beautiful, and luckily the weather cooperated so we were able to hang out in the swimming pond both days, which was great. We appreciated the other outdoor activities that the house came with, like Kan Jam and cornhole. The indoor game room was great as well. Very large and functional kitchen – though the outdoor grill was a little small for the number of people we had. Derrek was very responsive to all of our inquiries. Overall an excellent weekend, and I highly recommend this stay.

Wonderful stay organized by an excellent host team!

Our stay at the Mountain House was excellent. Our check-in process and stay was above expectation. The hosts were incredibly responsive and solved a couple of small issues for us very timely. We have already discussed renting the house again in the winter to take advantage of all of the season's amenities and ski resort proximity.

Unforgettable weekend

We rented the mountain house for our family during our wedding weekend and had a blast! The amenities and service provided by Derrek and his team were phenomenal. They made the entire experience relaxing and comfortable. The house is cozy and clean, and with the seasonal decorations it made it feel like you were home at grandmas house. We loved swimming in the filtered pond pool and sitting out under the stars by the fire pit. Derrek was super helpful and accessible for our wedding coordination, and made our last-minute micro wedding something truly unique and memorable. Wed definitely consider visiting again for other anniversaries or celebrations!

The Perfect Retreat

The house is fantastic for a group getaway! Derrek is incredibly responsive and a perfect host. Arranged all meals for our group and was sure to have the house stocked with everything needed. An A+ rental which I would highly recommend!!!

The Perfect "Team" Location!

We had a GREAT 'Team" Weekend at this modern country retreat. The house comfortably accommodated our 22 members and the surrounding property is both private and beautiful. The property managers were also responsive and clear at all times. We would recommend the property for group events - especially for outdoor activites - hiking, skiing, skating, etc. Oh, sledding too! It was a great weekend!

Fantastic Home for a Large Group Retreat

We return year after year to this home for our company ski weekend. The home is beautiful, well equipped, comfortable and very spacious. I highly recommend it for large families, friends or corporate retreats. There is plenty of room to spread out. The location is ideal and the property is lovely. We will be back again next year! Derrek is a wonderful host who answers all of your questions or needs ASAP! He also has a long list of recommendations of activities for everyone depending on what you want to do during your stay.

Perfect vacation home with amazing views and local attractions

The Mountain House was the perfect home to host our trip. The house was spacious, cozy, clean, and equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen. The location is conveniently located next to Windham Mountain, and a short drive away from local town, and just 20 mins away from Hunter Mountain. The game room on the ground level provided enough entertainment for both kids and adults, and the hot tub was the perfect way to end our day after hitting the slopes! We also loved the kitchen and cooked most of our meals there! The hosts were very helpful and answered all of my questions before booking, during the planning process, and over the course of our stay. Derrek also helped us arrange for breakfast to be delivered from a local breakfast caterer, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we loved our stay and the Mountain House will be our first choice when we revisit in the future!

Ideal weekend in Windham

The Mountain House is perfect! We had a flawless family reunion weekend with 28 people in this house. The house was immaculate and the perfect size for our large family. I think our favorite item in the house is the custom built table for 22 people! The swimming pond is exquisite and everyone enjoyed chasing frogs over the rocks. The property is peaceful and expertly landscaped. And the house is walking distance from a cute small town with a convenience store, ice cream, coffee shop and a few restaurants. and We couldn't ask for a better vacation house for our family! We will be back!
