Cant comment on breakfast as didnt have it. Room is very basic for a deluxe room very limited items in the room pillow on bed was dirty left for housemaid in morning to change and was just put back on the bed Customer service is shocking and not customer focused worst ive come across in years. Hotel is very money focused rathered than there customers having a safe and pleasant stay. It was extermely bad weather (snow and ice) with amber warming risks and only travel in emergency hotel refused refund and refused to change date which can be understood (a little) but the customer service man on hotel phone was so rude. Very monwy fo used hotel no heating in january makes an old building very cold. On check out day they lit the fire and put out hot drinks and coffee but this was for show and unable to touch as was for a conference they had coming in very focused hotel on what looks good to get guests but doesnt look after them when visiting would not recommend at all

Lovely building but felt neglected and tired. Makeshift entrance through the gym wasn’t great either. Breakfast is cold and dreadful so eat it elsewhere. Lovely cafes in town

Room 18 - Madeleine is a “deluxe suite” with a Garden View. Deluxe Suite it is not. No hairdryer in room. Toilet wouldn’t flush away and then the contents of the toilet came up the bath plug hole. This happened on both mornings even though I’d highlighted it immediately on the first time it happened. I was swapped to Room 16 - Isabella and told it was also a “deluxe suite” with Garden View but it overlooks the car park.

The room was tired and lots of stains on the carpet for the money and staying in a spa hotel it was disappointing. We could smell the sewage from the tank such a shame. To be fair i found out the day before that the sauna and steam room werent available for use. I was going for a spa day so they did comp me use of facilities in the future, sadly though the rooms are so run down i would never return

The Manor House looks like it is going through conversion, the envelope of the property certainly needs restoring, or at least tidying up. It is a lot of work and once done it will be excellent. The function area within the main house looks fantastic. The Spa xx looks good, unfortunately I was looking forward to using the steam room and the sauna, but I was told both were out of action for a refurb. The food was all from the spa cafe, it is limited in what it offers. The food was ok but very standard. Breakfast was not great. There is nowhere to relax, apart from your room. We had a deluxe King room, in the attic of the main manor. It was huge, the bathroom was four star, the room would have matched if in its generous space they had a couple of lounge chairs or a settee. The TV was at 90 degrees to the bed, it also had loose wires strung across the wall at mid height.

The room was very nicely presented, light and very cosy and warm. The staff were very helpful, kathy helped us out lots and assisted us with whatever we needed. Access to the pool and various spa activities was a good addition as well. Lovely place and well recommeded, will deffinetely stay again.

Stayed here last week following the unexpected death of my brother in law. I wanted to take my wife for some respite after we had spent days in hospital. The room was basic and very cold, broken lamps, the bed was two singles fixed together and was hard with a summer quilt on, we asked the reception if we could have something warmer and they bought up a single, cheap flimsy quilt without a cover! Bathroom has damp marks & screen thick with mould. They had a left a small oil radiator in the room but it was not on when we arrived and it barely took the edge off when on. The room was noisy. Peoples footsteps above were heard throughout the night and people talking on the landing. There was no wifi and data which was annoying as we still needed to communicate to our family. The breakfast was again basic and the room had dirty plates on tables whilst staff chatted. The spa and pool area was run down and not the cleanest. When checking out I told the man on the reception desk everything.. not once did he look up from the computer screen. The hotel has been stripped so much that it lacks any warmth or character, and the investment in staff seems to have been stripped too, they just don't care! To them we were simply people giving them £130 to stay in a room but to us this was supposed to be a night away from the trauma we had just experienced, a night to think of ourselves rather than be strong for someone else, a night where we can reset breath and cry.

This was a very pleasant stay in a great location, ideal for where we were travelling. I had read some iffy reviews but happy to report that we need not have worried. The room was clean, the shower had been recently upgraded and the breakfast was excellent with a variety of choice. The manager of the coffee shop was very helpful and friendly as were the reception staff. There was also a nice woodland walk. We will definitely stay there again should we be travelling to that area for a long weekend.

The room was very comfortable and clean. And the staff very helpful. We were travelling and had to get up early so missed out on the breakfast. We did not take advantage of the spa facilities so cant comment on this. If we are in the area again we would stay here again. The only down side is there is not a restaurant onsite, we were given a list of places which was very helpful, the pub we chose was only 6 mins down the road in the car and was very welcoming and the food good.

What a welcome.

Parking excellent; went out of their way to accommodate our dog. Just need more rubbish/dog bins around the grounds. All staff really friendly and helpful. Room amazing.

I dont agree with the bad reviews.

Lovely place for a quick break. A little odd in lay out but nice rooms and facilities. Although there is no bar as such there is a garden cafe which does sell limited alcohol and enough seating. Room we stayed in was large and comfortable with a very good ensuite. The pool is good and clean enough with a working jacuzzi. The steam room isnt my thing but there is one unfortunately the sauna was out of order.

Apart from the lady on reception on arrival the rest of the staff didn’t seem to care and were not at all professional. For example, we walked in to the cafe asked for coffee and a toasted sandwich and got told I don’t want to make anything because I’ve got other jobs to do. At breakfast cutlery and crockery were dirty we had to ask for spoons. Staff spent most of the time reading a book or on their phone. Room and shower was functional and clean, concerns where fire call points were blanked off.

Shabby

The place was run down and shabby, rundown mouldy bathroom, the garden room smelled of sewage. Breakfast was not ready at 7.30. The jacuzzi had too much chlorine, causing a coughing fit. The spa area was dirty and shabby there were no towels available. The whole place needs some tlc. Friendly reception staff. But overall very poor standard.
