The two rooms was fine but the evening dinner was a disaster. Both the Grandchildren's choices of Pepperoni Pizza and Ribs were unavailable, as was the fish and chips. The 'assorted' wine glasses were dripping wet and when we asked for dry ones we were given a rather smelly drying up cloth! We filled wet glasses instead. When we ordered our desserts at four minutes past nine we were told the kitchens shut at 9.00 p.m. and no desserts were available, not even ice creams. We had two very disappointed grandchildren! On ordering after dinner drinks I was told that cashing up was in process and so the bill could not be settled by credit card but would have to be signed for and put on the room bill - which I had settled on arrival to avoid the checkout process the following morning! I did not get a good feeling about this hotel and I am apprehensive about a further stay in a Holiday Inn Express booked for later this year. We will not be dining in the hotel! Just after 9.00 pm two new guests arrived and were told the restaurant was closed. They had to order takeaway pizzas.

Rooms where clean and ok. The pull out sofa is a hazard with sharp metal exposed which my child bashed himself on. The staff where friendly and very nice in general. The breakfast service was poor with food running out due to poor planning, and no staff member keeping an eye on what need replenishing. The coffee machines were broken with coffee everywhere. The other thing was that the clientele where not great. Trying to eat a breakfast that was not great with kids running around climbing over furniture, around you and under your table (perfect example of the me generation being put on a pedestal with no discipline - this was one particular family). The staff should have brought them up and it made the experience worse. (My kids are of a similar age and would not behave like that, playing tag in a breakfast room is just not on). Location was not great with a large pylon in the hotels car park. I won't be staying there again as I think I can get a better hotel for the money we paid.

A Friend and I stayed here for one night so we could go shopping first thing in the morning. We were welcomed with a cheery smile and Friendly conversation from the reception staff at check in. As we had a restaurant reservation in the town, they booked a taxi for us. Our room was clean and comfortable with a Hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The bed was comfortable and no noise from passing traffic from the M4. The bar area had a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was self service, although busy there was a good choice and as food ran low it was replenished regularly.

I have stayed at this hotel well over 50 times over the last few years for anywhere between one and four nights at a time. I have never had a bad experience whilst staying here, the rooms are without exception always extremely clean, maid service daily. Breakfast for me is good - starts at 6.00am great for those of us who are at work, personally I don't want a huge fry up every morning, a good enough choice for me, plus bacon also these days. The evening meal options are fairly limited however, so if your staying for more than two nights its possible to venture over to the Beefeater across the road 10 mins max walk; or order in a take away for a change. Overall it is an excellent base just off the M4. So if you need a handy stop over or you are on business in the area then no problem.

Poor service considering the only customer service expected was to check in and out...and one simple question. Myself, two young children and my mother decided to eat in their restaurant. Looking at their menu there was about 5 dishes and none were aimed at kids. I went to the reception and asked if there was a children's menu, the lady replied with 'they can make a smaller version plate'. So I asked again about there being no kids plates. The old lady just looked down and didn't even acknowledge what I had just said. Her colleague even looked at me awkwardly, knowing she was in the wrong. Like I said, not much customer service expected so why be rude? The next day we checked into the crowne plaza Heathrow and the customer service and quality stood out from the start. Lesson learnt, I'd rather pay the extra £30 a night and stay somewhere better than a holiday inn express. Never again. And yes I have stayed at holiday inn before and it was a similar outcome.

Staff polite and good friendly welcome on arrival Room clean and although looking directly onto the M 4 was quiet due to window tripped insulation This hotel is fine as a value midrange and when travelling worth using room rate was value and this included a good breakfast no charge for car parking and plenty of spaces

Let start with the positive note..friendly staff, rooms are good. But ...breakfast in the weekend is a complete nightmare. It was a rush hrs ..there is no control from the staff. Food on the ground, you had to ask for bread, glasses, milk. As a visitor I expect everything is still there coz breakfast is included in the price.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, Room lovely and clean, Breakfast very good considering its complimentary. Fruit compote yummy. Very quiet at night, which we appreciated, good location Only thing that spoilt it for me was the winter weight duvet, made us very hot and uncomfortable I would stay here again, but if during summer I would bring my own sheet to use instead of duvet

The hotel is ideally situated for both the M4 and public transport into Swindon town centre so it can't be faulted that way. The building itself is clean and modern and the room was spacious, clean and good. Additionally the staff were all fine. The breakfast appeared to have a smaller selection of options compared to other HI express hotels that I have stayed in but still plenty of fresh food and not a real problem. Would stay again if in Swindon.

This Holiday Inn has just been refurbished; Its great and offered extremely good value. Rooms are well equipped and clean. Breakfast buffet is good. Close to M4 Jct 16 but surprisingly the motorway noise is not noticeable inside the hotel. Evening meal menu is limited but of good quality. There is a Beefeater within easy walk of hotel.
