Overall, the property is beautiful. It's centrally located to many great restaurants and not a far walk to the Punda area. NOTE TO AMERICANS: The one thing we found very frustrating was that we didn't bring an electrical plug converter based on a quick google search and the hotel rooms only had the "Schuko" plugs and not enough converters. BRING YOUR CONVERTERS!
You need an adapter if you are from USA. The island says it’s the same adapter but bc it’s an old hotel you need one. Wish I knew this before going I would have brought mine.

Our whole experience was very rewarding ! The property was beautiful and we loved the historic details. All of the staff were so kind, considerate and accommodating. Our ocean front room was so nice and exceptionally clean. We used the shuttle to go to Queen Emma bridge and shopping. Would love to come back some day !!

Our first time in Curacio and it was great. The property at Avila Beach was beautiful and the Blue Wing we stayed it was Awesome!! Will definitely be returning
I loved the option for the rooms that overlooked the ocean. I loved the beach and the rock wall decreasing the strong ocean current and waves. We loved that we could snorkel right on sight. We did not love the food.
Very nice hotel and beach near town for shopping and nice restaurants nearby.
All on site were really great. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Beds were firm but comfortable. Whole surrounding area has a ton to do.
Great experience overall for our honeymoon! Spectacular views in the Blues Wing! When the battery died in our rental car the staff was nice enough to have maintinence come out to give us a jump. Free of charge. Very nice of them. Go off the hotel grounds for food though. While it may be convenient it’s not good food (Schooner was terrible; appetizer went to another table, Rice not fully cooked). Other places are much cheaper for TASTY food. Otherwise we will stay there again.

The pros: We got a two bedroom suite that was wonderful. It was clean and the air conditioning worked very well. We were 3 people and having 3 bathrooms was amazing because we could all get ready at the same time. The room was perfect. The wifi was also surprisingly strong and reliable; I was able to stream a few things while falling asleep. The reception staff was also very nice and accommodating. The beach and lagoons were very nice. The food was mostly good, but not great. The cons: The wait staff!! I have never experienced such unhappy people who are so unwilling to be helpful. The bar staff was terrible and the drinks were very weak. Just stick to the tiny beers because at least you know what you’re getting. Service took forever. Bring your own pen because when they give you the check, they somehow expect you to have your own pen after you’ve been lying on the beach. The other con was that everywhere in the hotel was very quiet and boring. They didn’t play any Caribbean music or anything. It was just quiet the whole time. If you’re looking for a family hotel with things to do, this is not your place. There are no water activities, although you can rent a snorkle mask. They don’t play any kinds of beach games like bingo or coconut bowling like I’ve seen at other places. Nothing. So if you want a very quiet vacation where you do absolutely nothing but lay on the beach, Avila is fine. But if you want any kind of entertainment, you should find someplace else.
My family did not have the best experience but lots of people were having a great time. I told management about my experience and the staff was wonderful. They took the time to listen and they adjusted our stay. I am impressed and grateful for the resolve. A hotel is just a hotel until something goes not so right. It is what the hotel did that spoke volumes. The Avilla was great to us. Thank you
