Chalet Motel Whitefish2.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is older, but very well maintained! The room was huge and very clean, the AC and fridge/freezer worked very well, lots of outside parking. We had two queen beds and loved it. It is very close to downtown (if you wanted to walk, you could). A Safeway store is right there, Mc D's is across the street and another grocery store, also. The pool was open, the hub was unfortunatley not. A small breakfast is served in the lobby, with muffins and bagles. The staff is extremely personable and we had few nice conversations with Dianne, the manager. We will come to stay here again when in Whitefish.
The Chalet Motel isn't fancy, and is a little dated, but gets it right where it counts. It's very clean, has excellent Linens, and comfy mattresses. There is a nice size refrigerator with freezer and a microwave in the room along with a coffee maker and coffee. There is no dining area to serve a traditional continental breakfast however, they do offer Bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, and orange juice in the mornings in the lobby. This was just fine for me and my family as we don't eat a big breakfast typically so this was a perfect start to our day. There is a grocery store that is open 24 hours a day across the street. There is a McDonalds there as well, and a Subway and Pizza Hut within a block. We spent most of our time hiking in Glacier National Park so didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel and never had a chance to use the pool so can't comment on that. The staff were extremely helpful and could answer any question you might have about the area. I would definitely stay here again
Because of the fire, we couldn't stay at our selected hotel in Glacier & added an extra night here. Older motel but large room, away from city center but had a nice Chinese restaurant next door which fed us for 2 nights. A 12 cup coffeepot was in the room which was especially nice for mornings. Continental breakfast pretty minimal but at least we had something to munch on. Dianne at front desk was friendly and helpful. You could tell she took pride in her motel.
Very clean. Front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable on where where the fires were and where we could go and not go. Very friendly and cared about the people staying at the motel. We stayed at the motel when we arrived in Whitefish on Amtrack. We rented a car and traveled around Glacier National Park and stayed again when we retuned to get back on the train. There were plenty of other places to stay but we were treated so well we wanted to stay again. They picked us up at the train station since we arrived at 9:30 pm and it was not convenient to pick up our rental car at that time of night. Again great place to stay
You're going to pay top dollar for lodging in Whitefish during tourist season. The bite was less here than most other places. Has the standard stuff at no extra cost: internet; on site parking; and small breakfast selection. Supermarket is across the street.
What a nice surprise. After spending a long day at Glacier National Park, my wife & I were looking for a nice place to bed down. This motel cost $125 for a night. There was a continental breakfast included with no seating. You need to bring the food back to your room. The coffee was the best. A local Montana brand. I'd like to bring some back to Massachusetts. The bed was very comfortable in a clean room. Also, the swimming pool was spacious and the water was not freezing! I'd definitely return.
The Chalet is just a motel, no special frills, but a great place for overnight when traveling. It was totally clean, the folks at the desk were wonderful. The rooms are spacious, and the beds, totally comfortable with nice sheets. It is close to everything you need in Whitefish. It was perfect.
My bf and I stayed here for one night in August as a stop before Glacier. Very clean which is mostly what matters to me. It was cute and had AC. The lady who checked us in was so kind and welcoming with info on places in town to eat, etc.... we were going to come back for another night if we couldn't get a campsite in Glacier. Would stay again ESP for the good rate.
In this class of accommodation , this hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, staff friendly, ample parking, fast wifi, and good location (if you are going to glacier national park. The breakfast could be better, however.
Rooms was large, beds were comfortable and they did a great job cleaning them. Enjoyed sitting outside our rooms as they had plenty of chairs and tables available. Pool was cold so only used it once during the 5 days we stayed. The customer service from the manager Diane was awful. She was very rude to us and others we traveled with more than once during our stay here. If we hadn't already paid for the stay would have moved to another hotel in the area. Not recommending this hotel check other ones in the area.
