"Michael’s place was perfect for our two week stay. House had everything we needed, including a charcoal grill. Location was terrific: two miles from a kayak put in (which we used several times during the stay with our own kayak), 2 miles from Windmill Marina (although it was undergoing a renovation during our stay, you could use the pool/beach/tiki bar for 10 per person per day); 5 miles to White Stone for some great restaurants and a wonderful bakery; 7 miles to Irvington for restaurants, the Tides Inn and golf; 8 miles to Kilmarnock for more restaurants and the Food Lion; and a 45 minute drive to Reedville to take the ferry to Tangier Island (highly recommend). We did have an issue one day with one of the AC Units cutting out, and I contacted Michael and he had it fixed within 6 hours. Other communication was promptly returned and with a great attitude. Highly recommend this property for a stay in a cute area of the Commonwealth."

"Where do I begin?...This spot is where my daughter & her fiancé wanted to marry. The Rappahannock carries special meaning for them...it's where they began their love story, and where they were engaged. Pop Castle is a warm, beautiful place for an event...only surpassed by the warmth and kindness of it's owners. The home is historic, well-maintained, and so comfortable! No detailsforgotten. Amazing kitchen! Bathrooms immaculate and the most comfy beds! This is truly a place for relaxation and sharing joy with friends & family! It has every amenity for a large gathering...beautiful views and grounds, places to spread out and come together! As Mother of the Bride, I was not as relaxed as I would have liked! But...all the more reason to return with the folks we treasure for another "Rivah" Respite! "Enjoyed our getaway at this bayfront property in a very quiet and private neighborhood. White sandy beach in a protected bay. Water was calm and you could safely walk out quite far. Very nice sunroom for morning sunrises. "
