This motel is right in town which is fantastic. The 2 bedroom place was clean and spacious. We were downstairs and there was quite a bit of noise from the people upstairs, which was annoying.

A mixed bag - probably not good enough to return

A mixed experience. All staff - desk and service - were friendly and welcoming and helpful whenever we needed anything. Unfortunately we needed something a lot because the policy on supplies is to hand out the minimum. Having to ask several times for toilet paper for example and being given one roll each time is a poor look and a worse experience. The units are also individual so a bit of a lottery as to the quality you’ll get. Ours had stained sofas and rather worn quits but sheets were crisp and clean on arrival. Regrettably also policy not to clean or change bedding until the 8th day of stay, excluding many from that service I guess. Finally the WiFi needs a serious upgrade. A comment in the unit guide suggests complaints are frequent but these days to say it works fine until lots of people are using it isn’t good enough. Even in a week with a fraction of the units filled the WiFi was very poor and kept cutting out. If I needed to work it would have been a major issue but as it was just disappointing and really no longer excusable. But the location is good, the staff friendly, the pool and jacuzzi very welcome and Whangamatā is always a pleasure.

Very comfortable weekend away.

Our second stay at this lovely motel, supporting family competing in the Whangamata Challenge. Very roomy 2 bedroom unit, upstairs overlooking the pool, spa and tennis court. Great facilities. I'd like to say how friendly the staff were. Would definitely stay here again and have recommended to others.

I was in Whangamata for work. I took my elderly Mother with me. They accommodated an early check-in, at no extra cost. Dan and Grace (the Hosts) were fantastic! Friendly, helpful and did everything they could to look after and check on my Mother, while I was working. Awesome customer service, that was above and beyond the call of duty. 5 stars!!!
