Arrived and room wasn't ready, girl on reception wasn't friendly nor apologetic at all. Room was basic but clean. We had food in the bar when we arrived which wasn't great at all and the restaurant wasn't any better, poor quality, bland and tasteless. We went to bar for few drinks, unnecessary waiting for drinks, they seemed to forget about the wine ordered which they had to go and get and would drop it down to the table, had to go back up and remind them, wouldn't like to see the bar busy. Woke up in the middle of the night with a child screaming in the next room. Breakfast was positive with a good selection, leisure centre was nice, clean and staff there were friendly and polite; the only positives. Was glad to get home.
Stayed here for 2 nights last week. 2 adults and 1 child. Check in was simple and fairly quick, thankfully we beat the queue of people that came in behind us. Was impressed by the room, we had a twin room, double and single bed. Loved the colour theme of grey and mustard. The room itself was spacious, though the bathroom was small. We had dinner in the restaurant on the 1st evening, we had to wait to be seated, though couldn't see any staff to seat us. After about 5 mins wait we were finally seated. The place wasn't that busy but a lot of table were left untidy. There was 3 waitresses though only about 10 tables with guests at them. Our waitress was lovely, think her name was Wendy, she was chatty and my 5 year old thought she was funny :) We had starter for soup, it wasn't hot as it should be but we still enjoyed it. The main course and dessert were very tasty and I was very happy with the service. We used the pool in the Club Vitae, little one loved it and we had free use of the woggles. Kids will need armbands on though in the pool as it's all the one dept (1.4m I think) There was a disco on halloween night for the smallies and those that weren't running around unsupervised seemed to enjoy it. 2nd night we had dinner in the bar, it was very busy and with only 3 taking orders it was hectic. The food itself was very tasty. We had ordered 2 courses, during our starters our main came out though we weren't ready for it. It was brought down by a different waiter though it was a waitress that took the order from us. The waitress came out to apologise for the mains being delivered saying that it shouldn't of came out as she hadn't requested it. She had offered to remove it from the table but as I had nearly finished my starters I kept my main. Though we had 3 in the room there was only towels for 2, no biggy though as we had brought some of our own towels. On day 1 we used the milk for the coffee but it wasn't replaced when the room was serviced on day 2. Overall it was a great stay just a few small things could of made it better. Location is great, near the town centre and there's things to do within a half hour drive of it. Majority of the staff were very chatty and helpful. We were to have a bottle of wine as part of our deal, would have expected this to be in the room on arrival but it wasn't, we didn't follow it up though. Would I stay here again. yes I would!
We arrived at this hotel around half 5 even tho check in is meant to be 3, we waited 20 minutes for our keys to the room only to be told that only 1 of our 2 rooms was ready ! When we got to the room we walked in on the cleaners still cleaning the room ! Reception staff not very apologetic!! Also kept up all night from a room two doors down screaming, banging things and running up and down the hallways shouting to which the staff did nothing about !! Also leftover plates left out on floor in hallways all night still there when leaving ! No hand soap in 2nd room obviously not refilled when cleaning ! Cleaning staff seemed understaffed and under pressure ! Not their fault but obviously hotel management not very well organised!! Will not be returning !!
Arrived at 5.30/6 after being told check in is at 3 , got to our rooms cleaners were still cleaning them , so had to go back out . 2am onwards people screaming , shouting singing down the corridor and in the rooms until 6am , reception did nothing , no one got any sleep . Food is horrible , over priced frozen pizzas ... rotten. Bad vibes.
I booked this hotel for my mothers Birthday ., From when we arrived to when we departed i have to say the service was excellent . Our bedrooms were family rooms and were large and spacious for children . We ate in the bar the 1st night and service and food was outstanding , Breakfast was also great only thing was there were very little selections of pastries . We had dinner in the restaurant on the 2nd night the food was great , there was a tour group having dinner at the same time staff were under a lot of pressure but it did not affect our service , I would like to thank all the staff in all departments for there wonderful service you have a great team .
Very nice room, nice and large, two large beds we had a balcony good was very tasty, food service in bar a little slow, service in restaurant was good if I went back to Ireland I would stay again, which I won't. Because they are not very keen on the English (my grandparents are irish) but they did not know that
Ordered a simple toasted sandwich and chips... some chips were hot whilst others cold. Some had salt, others didnt. Definitely felt like some were off another plate... Toasted sandwich was like cremated cardboard...overpriced... certainly not enticing me to return.
Very basic hotel and not particularly clean. we sat down to eat at 8.15pm in a quiet restaurant & were still waiting for desserts at nearly 10pm. The food was bland & very plain, not worth the prices being charged. It was a basic menu with three starter, main & dessert choices so should have been very simple to prepare & serve. On our prebooked return journey the meal & service were even worse. They claimed it was a shortage of staff but this hadn't stopped the hotel taking bookings that they obviously could not manage. Breakfast was very basic & chaotic. Definitely the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
Our last stop in Ireland before going to the ferry at Rosslare. It is a comfortable hotel with clean, well kept rooms. Beds very comfortable. Food was good and staff really friendly and helpful. Would have stayed longer if it was possible.
Recently stayed in the Maldron. Niamh on Reception was engaging and chatty, very pleasant. Juliana in the Restaurant the same, took time with us and engaging in conversation, even though she was on her own. She did this with all guests
