Called in advance to request a room with city/water view but advisor was more keen to charge extra than usual complimentary for SPG member....who was intending to stay 3-4 nights every week for next couple of years. Gym is too congested and still open to general public. Receptionist at checkout, having asked as a routine on how was the stay....didn't even bothered to wait for my response. Thanks but....No Thanks.
I came here for a Hen party and we couldn't have picked a better hotel! The staff went out of their way to be helpful to us, the rooms were incredible, and it is the perfect location. I will be coming back here again for the staff alone!
My friends and I stayed for 1 night in the Sheraton hotel in Athlone . From our arrival to our departure it was great, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were great, very clean and modern, food was great and the location brilliant. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back .
Hotel staff were excellent but unfortunately a mix up (on their part) with the booking meant that I was shipped off to another hotel which was a real pain because the business event I was attending was at the Sheraton. The staff were excellent though and it does seem like a really nice hotel....much better than the Ramada!
Can only recommend this hotel, that is located above the shopping mall. All guests park for free and even when departing, you can stay in the city/mall for hours and hotel is covering your parking. Very good breakfast, wi-fi free and fast, our corner deluxe room on 9th floor nice, clean, modern and most important, with very comfy firm bed. There is some room for improvement for club lounge, some more offerings during the day and upgrade for the evening could come handy.
I visited the Sheraton two weeks in a row for business meetings with coffee and lunch. They couldn't have been different experiences! The first was impressive enough that I'd have left a "Very Good" rating. The bar area, especially the seats, may be worn out, tawdry, and dirty (not what you'd expect from a Sheraton), but the service was great. The lady looking after us was genuinely friendly, warm, and welcoming. It was a proper Irish hospitality experience and very pleasant, so much so that I returned a week later. This was a different experience, and certainly no Irish Welcome. The lady may have had a smile to greet us, but it was anything but genuine! And apart from having to listen very closely to understand her accent, it was like dealing with a robot. There seemed to be a complete lack of common sense and the ability to think for herself. Unfortunately no different to a sizeable portion of staff in Irish hotels and restaurants these days :-( I'll be back in Athlone several times over the next few weeks, but not in the Sheraton.
Stayed in shearaton on Sunday and Monday, wonderful experience from start to finish and food in restaurant was probably some of the best my wife and I have had presentation and quality at its best also Caitlin our waitress was able to be efficent yet able to talk to us like we were long lost friends she made our dining experience even more enjoyable, will definitely be back Many thanks jackie.
stayed for 1 night, bedroom was well laid out and very comfortable and super views of the river, I ate room service which was good. Breakfast had great choices, staff were really friendly and attentive, parking was easy, a great hotel
Stayed here last week for one night. Had a lovely room and couldn't fault it. Staff were all lovely. Visited the pool. The pool area was very clean but the water was freezing even in the jacuzzi!! Also there was a private aqua aerobics class on in the pool so half the pool was cornered off. It really annoys me when hotels do this with their leisure centre!!! Breakfast the next day was a real disappointment! There was a good choice for continental breakfast. However the cooked breakfast left a lot to be desired! The bacon was over cooked, the eggs were like plastic and even tasted like plastic!!! Everything was under lights and then covered with a plastic lid. The utensils were even under the lights and were too hot to touch!!! Everything was dried out and looked like it had been left lying. We weren't late down so it wasn't like we were only catching the end of breakfast time. I would return to the hotel as the rooms are modern and well maintained and it is centrally located. However, going on my breakfast experience I would eat out!!
We are here for three nights and I want to stay forever. Truly caring reception, the amazing Leo just took great pains to be certain our first night’s rest would be flawless! The swimming pool is beyond helpful after pulling bags down the quay in Dublin, has many aqua therapy options! Can’t wait until tomorrow!
