I had a meeting to attend and stayed here overnight. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were clean. Overall impression a great place to stay at. They have swimming facilities. They have a buffet breakfast so it suited me.
We was greeted on entry and treated really well, parking was right outside the hotel with easy access. It is ideally located, with the Harbour, Beach, Museum and shops right on the door step. The staff are very welcoming and the restaurant and bar are superb, with the best breakfast options available.
Absolutely lovely hotel. Has a fantastic location with the best of service. The restaurant is great as well. We stayed in the suite and the room was extremely large and comfortable with views of the beach. There was a popular bar near the room but the noise did not impact the room at all. Would recommend to all
We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon in Feb 2017. The welcome was really heart-warming. They had a beautifully done placard displaying our name in honour of our honeymoon stay. At the lobby, we were offered South African sherry as the welcome drink which was really amazing. To simply spoil us, we were given a free upgrade to a villa with three floors - the basement being the master bedroom with a larger than life bathroom and a gorgeous bathtub, the ground floor being the living room with the kitchen and a balcony and finally the top floor with a kid's room. The view from the balcony is simply amazing as it oversees the sea. The hotel team gifted us a bottle of Champagne and a chocolate cake and that was really sweet of the hotel team. The location is also pretty amazing as you can collect a free pass from the reception that lets you go through a museum directly to the beach. There is a small market area just 300 meters from the property and an amazing Indian restaurant just across the hotel which is run by two very amazing Indian born Londoners. We would love to go to that place once again simply to enjoy the hospitality once again.
Clean rooms, breakfast was very good, staff attentively, enough parking places in front and not far away to the beach and the reservation point for white shark diving (just over the street). We´d go there another time
Typical chain hotel, rooms were fine - although I booked a deluxe, I found that was the basic room in any case and there wasn't really anything deluxe.. ground floor but no balcony which was disappointing. Quite a compact hotel, which makes it quite noisy. Bar is very small as is pool area. Rooms clean and light, staff friendly and helpful.
We were en route from De Hoop to Botlierskop so this was a useful interim stop. The hotel does not look inviting from outside but it certainly is inside. There have been extensions made over the years which you see when you go to the back. The room (standard) was very clean and modern and had a king size bed and we did have a peak at the sea over some apartments built in front of the hotel. The outside bar has spectacular views of the bay and the adjacent restaurant has good reviews so we ate there, and had a lovely meal. Breakfast was a good buffet and cooked food was available to order as with other Protea hotels. The reception staff were super and we were made to feel special being Marriot members. I was slightly worried about where to park the car but the road is quiet and the spaces are marked out diagonally ,in front of the hotel, not on the road completely.
Had the great pleasure of spending three nights over Christmas in the stunning Presidential suite at the lovely, peaceful Mossel Bay Protea. The suite has very recently been remodeled and it exceeded my high expectations. It has a large terrace overlooking the Bay; the design of the rooms is contemporary and stylish with wonderful touches. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and made this New Yorker - on a three week vacation in South Africa - feel incredibly at home and well-cared for. Highly recommend!
Family and friend stayed in the presidential suites and the rooms are spacious and nice view with self catering options. We made use of The Christmas lunch and it was totally worthwhile. They did cater for the kids not eating sushi. The environment was friendly and clean. The staff was helpful at all times going out of their way to assist the clients. Did not hear anyone complaining but enjoying the view. Very close to the harbor. Will recommend this to visitors
The hotel rooms are nice, with small bathrooms - only showers, unless you get the self catering (which are nicer). There's a good restaurant. And a bar, but no real place to chill as a guest. The lobby doesn't really provide that environment.
