Our family stayed here for two nights recently. We enjoyed the overall offering and will definitely return when we visit the area again. Positives: * Great location (right next to the Diaz museum complex and a great restaurant); * Clean and spacious accommodation; * Friendly and welcoming staff; * Decent (and free) wi-fi. Negatives: * No off-street parking; limited street parking in front of hotel.

What a pleasure to have stayed in this hotel. Such friendly& helpful staff, starting all the way from the manager, Ronel Theron. Nothing was to much. From check in to check out. You are treated not as number but as a VIP, although we are just normal people. it makes such a difference. Thank you so much.

The hotel was very modern with modern amenities and comfortable sleeping. The surrounding area seemed to be quiet. We left our windows open for the coolness and it was comfortable. The service was just okay and the food staff was not very friendly. The wifi was terrible on the iPhone but did not drop as much on my computer. There is a little outside, separate bar area that is very nice and the bartender was personable. The walls to between the rooms were very thin and you can hear everything! The shower area is clear glass on the top and bottom of the shower and a privacy glass in-between. It might not be so suitable if traveling with young children

Zacharia the Porter was excellent service, all staff are friendly and we had a beautiful room, Roche the Reservationist was great The Restaurant service was great, we had a room service food was delicious

The staff were really professional and excellent in their service. They took the effort to put a welcome sign at their front desk addressed to the guests who were checking in on that day. It was a pleasant surprise for us to see our names on the welcome "board". The rooms were small but sufficient. The location was excellent! right at the centre of the attractions and town. The only drawback is that their restaurant is outsourced, as such, we were not able to have free breakfast (one of the entitlements as a member).

We booked a suite, but on arrival were told all suites were being renovated. We were offered a choice of room and free breakfasts for our stay. The room we chose was very comfortable with all amenities. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. All this was excellent, but what really stood out was the staff. They were beyond helpful and I cannot praise them enough. We were there during the fires in Knysna, and were going on the Plettenburg Bay. They called the guesthouse we were going to, to ensure it was safe and then checked that the road would be open and safe to travel. All without us having to request help. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they are an absolute credit to the hotel chain.

The hotel has a great view of the waterfront. Hotel rooms are smaller but have all the essentials needed for a short stay. The hotel is smaller but offers a connected restaurant for breakfast and dinner. On the outer deck area, there is a great view of the coastline.

We overnighted on our way to Tsitsikamma recently, we were assigned the Presidential Suite - but what an awesome suite! We were sorry we couldn't stay longer - it is absolutely amazing! Everything about it - even the views from the verandah - cannot describe it any other way then just absolutely AWESOME!!!! Looking forward to going back soon!

The Protea was our base for a night whilst in SA. We liked it. The staff on arrival were so welcoming and a very tasty glass of sherry offered. The location was good had lovely views but (and it's only a temporary but) there was building work going on in some of the rooms so if you were looking for a quiet, relaxing day at the pool, at the moment, you'd be disappointed. The beach is close though and very beautiful and you can get away from the noise. So all is not lost. We chose to eat at the hotel in the evening and I'm really glad we did. The food was of a standard much higher than one would expect of a 'hotel chain' It was gorgeous. Taste the filo wrapped Kinglip and I'm sure you'll agree (pretty certain you won't need a desert afterwards though!) It looks like a popular spot for people not staying at the hotel too so booking in advance would probably be a good idea. If you can over the works going on at the moment then...Go, eat, enjoy.

Beautiful views, great food, comfortable luxurious stay! I would definitely like to go back and stay much longer. Quaint little town and the atmosphere makes you feel you still in the 1800 but with all the modern perks!
