Just had a three night stay with a group of friends for NYear which was disappointing to say the least. Bedroom was large with nowhere to put stuff. No drawers no proper wardrobe and we were put in a disabled room on the 6th floor. The sink in the bathroom was minute couldn't fill a bottle of water under the tap. there was just enough room for a toothbrush. The shower was a type of wetroom and was huge wasnt nice There were red emergency cords everywhere a seat in the shower hand rails everywhere and to top that not one shelf to put toiletries. No spare toilet paper. No lid on the toilet so couldn't put anything there. Towels were clean and changed everyday. Room was cold took us ages to figure out how to use the heating system. There was only one lift working for 7 floors. Food was abysmal who has fish and chips with cauliflower and carrots? Then one night we had frozen mixed veg which was dry. None of the food we had was hot. NY eve was a little better roast beef and Yorkshire pud 1 thin slice of beef and there were carrots and huge bowl of red cabbage which tasted horrible. The singer on NY eve was really good but she only sang for 3/4 hour and went to say she would be back to celebrate the NYear. we were then left with only background music. We all went down to the square to celebrate which was brill. I could go on with loads more conclusion being that the very pleasant staff need more training and someone should take a little more care in organizing the running of the place. If my partner and I had been on our own we would not have stayed but were with a great crowd of people.
Lovely hotel, very friendly staff. Love staying here as a mini break away from reality with my partner. Would highly recommend this hotel. Was very happy about the discount in the car park wa an added bonus to our stay
Two night stay can’t thank the staff enough, couldn’t do enough for you. On the down side the room wasn’t particularly clean but passable. One further point , is there no longer a dress code in dining rooms. I am no prude but I think guests should at least be asked to get dressed for breakfast and not just wander down in their pj’s and slippers.
Stayed for one night with my daughter as she had an interview the following morning at the university. Room very spacious. Had everything we needed, hairdryer, iron etc. Lovely soft beds and warm. Fast and efficient check in and check out. Would use again
It had all the things I needed, iron, hairdryer, coffee, tea etc. etc. and was extremely comfortable and warm. The breakfast was wonderful, and all the staff were friendly and efficient. My only criticism was that there weren't enough bright light in the room or the bathroom.
Stayed here on a business trip in September for one night, the rooms were spacious and clean. However a colleague of mine did have an issue with a door not locking properly, however I didn’t have this same issue. Breakfast was good, lots of choice and hot. Suited me fine for a business trip.
Stayed one night on a trip to Doncaster Races with Caledonian Travel. Hotel is well situated near shops, restaurants and pubs. Check-in was quick and organised by friendly and helpful staff. The room was a good size, it was clean and the bed very comfortable, we heard no noise from neighbouring rooms or from outside. Both dinner in the evening and breakfast were well cooked, hot and tasty. Excellent value for money.
we were made wellcome as soon as we entered the foyer.check in was simple ,a fast lift up to the room which had a really comfortable bed.a very clean room well stocked extra milk an stuff in reception
Hotel very good and room superb. We were a bit taken aback with bar prices. Apart from that very good value for money. Hotel is not far from the Broadway shopping mall and the Sunbridge Wells bars both of which can be recommended for a visit.
Good hotel in central location close to the Alhambra Theatre and Centenary Square. Rooms good with comfortable bed and nicely decorated. Unfortunately breakfast was poor with the hot selection from buffet only luke warm. Good value for money.
