Breakfast on the sat was great, not so good on the Sunday though!! Less bacon from one day to next!!. Struggled most time to get somebody to serve us at the bar!! Very noisey in room below us but all in all not a bad stay

We stayed at this poor excuse for a hotel and paid for a full nights sleep but due to the howling sound coming from the windows we got no sleep neither did any of our family members in three other rooms when we asked for a refun due to not getting what we paid for we only received money back for two rooms the general manager Sue Barnes was not interested in even seeing me when I complained. The view from our rooms consisted of a brick wall. We had a meal in the restaurant for 13 people on a Saturday evening and there were only three other people dining the whole night. The menu was very limited, the service was very slow the person running the bar was the same one checking so the wait time was ridiculous. In general whole place was run down under staffed and a poor imitation of its former self. I think I had better stop here as I could go on all night.

We was in need of somewhere close to my daughters house as visiting so decided to stop over as got a good deal through the best western winter deal website. Paid £56.00 for 1 Saturday night for 2 in a large double including full English breakfast which was very nice. The room was large with tea/coffee making facilities included and a very comfortable bed. The staff all seemed friendly and helpful with a welcoming reception area. The bar area also looked nice but already made arrangements to go out nearby so not used.

We have stayed before and had many gatherings here and all has been good, this time wasn't to bad the room was clean and comfy we did feel the staff weren't as friendly though... My hubby ordered room service and paid for 3 portions of chips that came in one bowl .. we are not greedy but there was just over a handful and the cost was £7.50... we did mention this and the staff member said they are tight here !!!!! We were also woken up about 6.30am by people having a full blown conversation outside our doors - No other rooms were down this corridor so we presumed this was staff members...

We booked here as we were in Bradford for a funeral. It was only for one night and we just wanted to be in walking distance from the wake. Check in was easy just gave them the printout from my online booking. Our room was nice the bed was comfortable and all in all the room was all we needed. The facilities were good tea & coffee making facilities, a hairdryer & even an iron and ironing board in the room. The bathroom was clean with bath & shower. Nice towels and toiletries provided. We had a good nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning was also of good standard and the selection available was more than enough. The staff were polite and friendly. Despite its surroundings {don't expect the hanging gardens of Babylon} this hotel ticks all the boxes. Will I visit again .... yes if the need arises. I have one criticism and that is to the young lady in the breakfast room..... it would have been nice to have had our used crockery cleared as we went along.... instead of you waiting until we had left the table...... just my personal preference

Rang for availability. The receptionist was a little short on the phone. On arrival check in was quick. Dragged my case up the stairs through noisy doors. Room large & ok. Bathroom looked clean but on closer inspection, not so much - looked like someone had spilled coffee down the side of the bath. The plug was a swivel & was dirty on one side. Just expected a little more. The carpet had bits and the floor in the bathroom had maybe toothpaste patches on the floor - noticeable as the tiles are black. The room had trouser press & hairdryer, tea & coffee but not very nice coffee sachets. Bed comfy but sheets itchy. - would I return? Not sure I would & I wouldn't have wanted to be paying full price. My room was very noisy at the top of the stairs - People clomping up and down and doors banging - not at all peaceful.

I stayed at this hotel with family just after Christmas so that would could all have a meet up. Check in was very easy and the staff were friendly, offering alarm calls etc. We had booked bed and breakfast which was served until 10am on Sunday (11am checkout). The room was nice and comfortable. The bar area is nice, although quite small and there was a wedding on so we were happy that we got in there first to get a table in the corner as it got very busy! We ordered wine to drink and they helpfully said that they would label a bottle for us so it could be kept in the fridge, which was cheaper than paying for 3 glasses. It didn't last long! We went for food at The Chapel House pub which is an Old English Inn - I would highly recommend it but suggest that you book. It's about a 5 minute walk away from the hotel and is lovely for a drink too. Breakfast was good - a great selection of hot food brought to your table but the usual cold options such as cereal, fruit etc. I did really struggle with the toaster however, along with another lady and we gave up in the end before we set the fire alarm off! The only downside to our stay was finding out that there had been a burglary at approx 5am. The police were there when we were checking out. Obviously this is no fault of the hotel, but it was a bit of a concern. When my Dad stayed there previously, someone's car was broken into, which is why I would actually recommend the car park across the road - we all parked there this time and our cars were safe. The staff remained profesional throughout and there isn't anything they can change about the location which is a bit of a shame. I would recommend to stay here if you're in the area. It's comfortable, friendly and does good breakfasts, just make sure all belongings are out of sight in your car.

well me and my 75yo disabled mother decided to go to guidepost hotel for xmas break again but this time we stayed two nights instead, this time we stayed from xmas day till today tues 27/12/2016. And this time was better, the duty receptionist welcomed us with smile and showed us to our rooms, we went for the late sitting of the xmas day meal, which was excellent, and the waiters who served us were very genuinely friendly and with smile, we also had boxing day meal which again was excellent and served by the same 2 waiters, the breakfasts where good choice from continental to full English mm. our rooms where ones for disabled people in mind, & was accomadable. RIght think that's enough about food and rooms, would like to say a big thank you esp to Rebecca "receptionist" and the 2 waiters/ess would esp like to thank you to and should be recommended for employees of the month are peter, and cora sellers, and the duty chef and his staff should take praise for doing a lovely job over the xmas period.

Was down for Xcel Men's conference for just 1 night. The rooms were a good size. Comfy beds. Shower was a bit temper mental with the temperature though which was annoying as I couldn't really enjoy the shower or wash properly. Besides that decent enough.

We stayed here for a couple of nights recently for a wedding . We didn't opt for breakfast and had room only . The room (no 34) was a decent size and clean . We found it warm enough once we'd turned the heater up , staff are friendly too . The only downside is the lack of sleep we got due to the poorly sound proofed rooms ! We were kept up late by people in the neighbouring room laughing and their tv ! Then woken early in the morning by others in the corridor outside . The wedding itself was ok but meal very average and no better than most wetherspoons ! And we were horrified at the amount the wedding couple had paid for such a very plain meal you could have got anywhere else for about 12 quid ! Not the most exciting place to stay and probably wouldn't recommend to anyone else . Sorry !
