Staff are really helpful and the location is excellent. We stayed in a family room and the beds were so comfortable and the hotel is spotless. The breakfast is fantastic with something for everyone to enjoy. Swimming pool is a nice size and has great facilities. Would have no hesitation in returning.
We stayed at the hotel over a weekend in November. The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk to the beach or to the shopping parts of town. We are very pleased with the service from the staff and the room was fresh and clean. The bar in the hotel is very good with a wide selection of whisky’s. We will for sure stay at Hotel Bero the next time we visit Oostende.
When arriving we were disappointed as 4 stars for a warm and older family room with a view on a wall. The owner explained that in a couple years they will be renovated. The breakfast is very good with a lot of choice. The owners help at breakfast and they are very friendly. The location is very good close to the sea and City Centre. The swimming pool is large enough to play with kids. Parking pretty expensive and you cannot get to it without someone joining you.
Location is top. So is the spa. We had a room on the first floor next to the huge airco machines who make a lot of noise. Bath products could be larger. Nice hotel but not really worth 4 stars for 200 euro a night.
We stayed at Hotel Bero over a week-end in August. There were three reasons for choosing Hotel Bero: 1/ it is ranked #1 in Ostend at the time of booking (and writing); 2/ I could book it through American Express and get discounts; #3 It is located centrally in Ostend to get where we needed to be. To summarise, Hotel Bero is a bit of a deception for a property rated 4.5. If this is the best Ostend has to give, then so be it, but Hotel Bero is far from being outstanding. Read for more. I booked an Executive room at Hotel Bero for EUR 230 / USD 277 a night, on the American Express Travel website. Be aware that the Executive room does not come with two adjoined beds, not a single twin bed. A request was placed to inform us on bedding, it remained unanswered. While check-in was expedited, it cruelly lacked customer service. We checked in late (11PM-ish), and met a hotel representative finishing his cigarette. No greetings. The grumpy man unlocks the hotel door and we follow quietly to the check-in desk. After asking my name, I opt to give my passport. "No need" he says. The Executive room is large and clean. Furniture belong to cheap airport hotel. No water or sleepers offered. It is clean, but noisy, especially has the bed head is meters away from the room door. Our booking came with breakfast included. Nothing to be impressed there. It is buffet-style, but there is really few fresh items. It's all do-it-yourself (even beverages). Juices come out of a machine, so are coffees. The breakfast rooms is packed both days, and is far from being cosy/quiet. Bathroom amenities are hotel-branded. If back in Ostend, I would be considering a boutique hotel. Hotel Bero did the job, but was not outstanding.
We did a random road trip and ended up in Ostend. We needed to book a hotel for the night but due to minimum stays required in many hotels, we were really restricted with hotel options. We checked and Hotel Bert showed availability, we walked by and asked for room rates - it was actually cheaper than booking online. Check in was a simple process. We were given a room on 1st floor. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was soft for my taste, else everything else was good. Large bathroom with walk in shower and essential toiletries. The hotel had a spa and gym but we didn't make use of it. I read online that the hotel had parking, when I asked they said all the spaces were taken and we were signposted to a public car park nearby - 1 block away. The car park was busy and cost approx €25 overnight. Breakfast was included. The choices were ok leaning more continental with few hot items. Champagne available but we don't drink, we saw lots of other hotel guests taking advantage. Good location, the beach / promenade was only 1 block away. The main shopping area was 5mins walk.
This hotel is in a great location to bars and restaurants and the beach is about 200 meters away. It's doesn't have a mini bar or room service which resulted in us being very hungry as we had to work late. The rooms a really nice and spacious with fast wifi. It's a great hotel as long as your not hungry late at night 👌
Pleasant hotel. Very close to the beach front and shops. Room was clean with good air conditioning. Bed wasn't so comfortable for me. (Personal opinion) Lovely breakfast room with a huge selection of food and staff very cheerful. Parking was a bit of an issue so after getting information from hotel staff in advance we decided to park in Gent and take the train. Hotel was just a 10 minute walk from the station. On the rocks bar has a huge selection of whisky which my hubby was delighted with and the lounge area is nicely decorated and welcoming. Only thing I didn't realise in advance is that there is no restaurant in the hotel, however plenty of places out and about you are spoiled for choice.
I was just logging on the recommend a restaurant in Ostend when I noticed a review for the Bero Hotel..... I was very surprised at "wholenutshell's" review. My wife works for a company in Ostend and therefore visits once a month. My wife for business and me tagging along as a 'tourist'. We have, over many years stayed at quite a few hotels here, and never found the Belgium people anything but polite and helpful.. Without doubt the Bero Hotel is our preferred location, and my wife makes a point of requesting this hotel whenever visiting (Not that she always gets what she wants). Do see other comments before you take too much notice of wholenutshells review. In life if you treat other's with respect you receive it in return. This week we are in the Bero again and as always the customer service is first rate. The facilities are great and as described plus with the beach, shops and restaurants close at hand a great location. The Bero staff, of many nationalities, are a credit to the hotel. We recommend the Bero Hotel wholeheartedly, and hope we can get into this hotel next time. Regards Ronnie
The hotel is ideally located, 100m from the beach and close to all animated spots (bar, restaurants, etc), while not beeing too close meaning the area is still quite. The rooms are quite large and modern, even if the decoration is a bit outdated. Overall the service is very professional and the breakfast is perfect (especially after a hangover). It is also worth to mention that the fitness, wellness and pool facilities are really enjoyable.
