Secluded and beautiful
We had the pleasure of spending our honeymoon at Scottland house. It was exactly as advertised and maybe a little better! The amenities were excellent and the views are almost surreal. A short drive/walk to Smuggler’s Cove and you are sitting on one of the most beautiful beaches in the BVI. As others have said, the road is rough, but nothing a decent vehicle cannot handle. We would recommend a four-wheel drive capable vehicle. Our small Suzuki Jimny was perfect. We rented from Jerry’s just down the road. We will strongly consider this property for future trips.

Slice of Heaven
This villa was an absolute dream. Perched on the hillside of Tortola overlooking the beautiful Smugglers Cove, we didn't want to leave. The indoor / outdoor living was beautiful. We open all of the doors first thing every morning to enjoy the breeze and view with coffee from the bench swing. The pool was refreshing after a day of excursions. We had friends join us one night for a big home cooked meal with our fresh catch. Music playing, kids in the pool, wine flowing with that view and space will be a wonderful memory for years to come. Few things to make note of ... the drive to all of the villas require 4 wheel drive and was a mild adjustment the first night but became fun after that. I am a solo mom and had no problem driving up and down everyday. If you have toddlers, the pool / porch area might be a little nerve wracking with the drop off around the pool.Very clean and well stocked! Would definitely stay again!

Postcard Picture Perfect!!
Scottland exceeds everything you think you will find in a VRBO. The views are better than the pictures. The house is better than the pictures. Communication with Sam and Sharlene was excellent. Sharlene helped me set up everything we needed for our vacation- from reserving the jeep (necessary), to providing great suggestions for snorkeling (island surf and sail). The views are breathtaking from the house. It is its own little paradise. Bring lots of sunscreen and bug spray- you are in the tropics. No warm clothes needed AT ALL. Perfect week. Thank you so much, Villas of Tortola. Wonderful.

Best location on the island! Roads are a little treacherous, but we quickly figured that out. Pool is amazing and house beautiful and well equipped.
A beautiful beach is a quick drive with the best beach bar called Patricia’s. We ate there almost everyday. You won’t be sorry staying here!

Amazing Views
We stayed 9-days at Scottland and wish we could have stayed more. The villa was a perfect size and layout for my family of four. The views and surrounding landscaping were absolutely amazing and the villa was very clean and well equipped. A rugged 4WD vehicle is a must to get to the villa as the road in is quite the adventure (but adds to the fun). Smugglers Cove is a short 5 minute drive away and is walkable if you prefer. Sam, JC, Sharlene and Pinky were amazing and they all helped us out along the way with answering questions, renting a vehicle, receiving and unpacking our grocery order and meeting us after we landed to guide us to the villa for the first time. Pinky even delivered her famous rotis to our villa which were absolutely amazing.

It was the most amazing view I have ever seen. The house was amazing . Pictures do not do it justice. Be sure to bring bug spray for yourself. Outdoor bugs will eat you up. It was probably the most relaxed stay I have ever had anywhere. I would stay there many times over.

Terrific in Tortola
My wife and I just returned from a two week stay at this hillside villa overlooking beautiful Smugglers Cove. We had a wonderful relaxing stay, enjoying morning breakfast on the upstairs patio off the master bedroom, and evening dinner on the expansive covered patio adjacent to the sparkling pool. It was hard to talk ourselves into going anywhere else to explore or have a night out, since everything at "Scottland" was so comfortable. We did, however, make an exception on a number of days to take the 3 minute ride down the hill to Smugglers Cove. This beach is like sugar sand, and the ocean water is crystal clear, but the best part is we only had to take a short stroll to Patricia's beach bar where cheeseburgers in paradise awaited along with Painkillers to wash it down...YUM!
The staff at Villas of Tortolla took great care of us, and made our stay absolutely perfect. We would definitely consider a return to this little slice of paradise.

Amazing getaway !
This property is stunning! Such beautiful views of the hill sides & ocean! Very quite & private location. Home is cozy & comfortable. I think we spent 80% of our time on the veranda! We had a few hiccups but Sharlene was excellent in resolving any issues. Roads take a little getting use to at first but just go slow, you’ll be fine. Scotland is such a gem, we will return hopefully sooner than later!

Spectacular View and Private
First and foremost, the view was simply spectacular. We spent pretty much all the time in the pool, the deck and the covered porch, other than to shower and sleep. The deck outside the master bedroom was also heavenly, we ate all our breakfast there while watching the neighbouring islands of BVI. The deck was also a great spot to star-gaze at night.
We had some issues with kitchen utensils and cleanliness and made some suggestions to the owners. They were all easy fixes.
Previous guests had commented on the drive to the villa and I agree. Because of rain, the potholes were filled with muddy water so we couldn't tell how deep they were. We decided to return the rental car on Day 2 and relied on taxis exclusively during our stay.

We had a fantastic stay here! The view was breathtaking and never got old. We spent most late afternoons in the pool staring out over the water. The drive to the place is not for the faint of heart but we were prepared for that and it was well worth it for the seclusion and views. We would absolutely stay here again!

A View A Top Tortola - the Amazing Villa at Scottland
Our stay at the Villa in Scottland BVI was extremely enjoyable, at no small part to the efforts of the property manager, Sharlene. Assisting in the lead up to our stay, Sharlene helped us secure a car rental, answered every conceivable question, and even met us in town and lead us to the property. The first time you enter the villa is a special experience. The house has been recently updated (not pictured in the home photos) and is even more comfortable and accommodating. The front deck was remade to be larger and covered, and houses additional dining and seating options. It is the best spot to take in the views and survey the goings-on of the beach. The beach is a hidden gem. In the 7 days of our stay, the number of beach goers did not exceed 20 (most days, it was more like 7-10). To echo other reviewers, the roads leading to the property are indeed rough and require a rugged 4WD vehicle for repeated use. A normal 4x4 will work, but clearance may be an issue at points. We chose to view the condition of the road as adventurous, though it may affect how often you choose to venture out (it did ours). There were a few times that we left a fully latched door, only to return to a door that was slightly ajar. That can be unsettling, until you realize that the road you just traveled is just as much a security measure. All in all, the house is one of a kind, and we look forward to staying again in the future. We'll be sure to fly direct, next time, as the ferry experience is generally comparable to flying, without the consistent travel times. Trust me when I tell you, the Villa at Scottland is worth every penny, though some of those pennies might be well spent on gravel :)

Amazing Villa, Amazing Vacation
When I began my search for our recent vacation, I had not really zeroed in on where we would go. However, Scottland Villa was among the villas that came up in my search and after seeing those pictures, I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. Could it really be as beautiful as it was in the pictures? I messaged Sam, the property manager, with some questions I had because Tortola had just announced new quarantine policies for vaccinated travelers - which we were. Sam was so responsive and it made me feel even more confident that Scottland Villa was the right place for our first post-covid vacation so we decided to book! Sam answered all my questions, each time I had one, and arranged for our pick up at the airport, coordinated grocery delivery and even helped us get our travel applications approved (and she was amazing while we were vacationing as well). Once we arrived, the best taxi driver picked us up (Eric truly is the best!) and we started the drive to Scottland. My wife and I were very excited to actually arrive and see this place in person . . . It was even more beautiful than the pictures or my imagination had created. The architecture and style of the Villa is romantic and the views are breathtaking. We put down our luggage, opened the fridge to our groceries, grabbed the blender, made a frozen drink and got poolside as soon as we could! The pool was so clean and relaxing and as you lay in the loungers after a dip in the pool, your view is ocean and islands on one side and beautiful bright flowers and foliage on the other. The first night (while quarantined) we used the awesome outside grill and finished up cooking the meal in the kitchen (which as someone who cooks all the time I can say the kitchen was perfect!). The next morning we were back by the pool by 8 am spending the day reading, cooling off in the pool, drinking pina coladas and snacking! By the time we received our quarantine release email, we didn’t really care about leaving! And so we stocked up on groceries and supplies so we could spend our time cooking, napping and reading by the pool, and taking advantage of our time at Scottland Villa because we knew once we left, we would miss it so much! It was truly the most relaxing vacation we have ever had because of the privacy of the Villa, the beautiful views, the aura and style of the house, the pool and the view and peacefulness of Smuggler’s Cove. We look forward to returning when we need to take a deep breath again!

Perfect Hideaway
The picture does not even do this villa justice. It is even more amazing in person. In fact , we booked a return trip in Feb. It is impeccably maintained, and anything you need is just a text away. The beach is just a 3 minute drive down the hill, tucked away in Smugglers Cove and is an awesome little snorkeling spot. Although you won't ever want to leave the villa. The whole villa opens up and you are surrounded by the most beautiful views , from anywhere you are in the house. The kitchen is is very well equipped and opens up to a beautiful patio, if you like to cook, you won't find a more beautiful spot for dinner, anywhere. Getting to the villa is a bit of challenge, so make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. But once you get to it , it is heavenly. It is very private, quiet and tucked away.
