Great dining, lounge bar area. Nice atmosphere, classy yet friendly, lovely decorations for Christmas and prompt pleasant service. It gives the hotel an extra dimension. Good comprehensive breakfast choices, and best G & T I've ever had. Comfy basic bedroom - missed second bedside table but otherwise ok. With other guests at a wedding and hotel perfect for all our requirements. 20 min easy walk into central Breda which we did despite freezing weather. All good.
This hotel is not a 4 star hotel, more 2 or less. Rooms are very, very small ( not the rooms as shown on their website). Bathroom is a closet, that small. The restaurant was terrible, dinner as well as breakfast. Put this hotel out of its misery, close it and rebuild it!
I was looking for something special for a birthday of my husband. He likes to go to sauna and swimming pool. So I searched on the internet a hotel with a sauna, and then I found Amrath Hotel. That was exactly why I chose this hotel. On the website, I found nice pictures of a sauna and rooms looked very beautiful. But I called them just to make sure. The man at the reception confirmed that sauna exists and told me working hours. So I booked and paid 109 euro. When we arrived, we found out an old room, a small bathroom, and ... NO SAUNA. So disappointed! But there were good things too. I asked (via phone) another female reception to decorate a room with something romantic. She said yes, she can do it. But then when I called again a man told me that they are not allowed to do so. But when I came to the room, I found out that someone put on the bed, and walls handmade paper hearts. Very cute. Also, a swimming pool was empty, the water was warm and clean. The breakfast was good.
I' ve been there only for one night for business reasons. Easy to be located (just outside the highway), it has a good parking place. Very nice people at the reception as well as the restaurant, they give me good impression on hospitality. Not really modern but clean; shortly, one of the best hotel in the area where you can stay without pay too much.
We celebrated New Year in this hotel and it is no way a 4 star hotel. The rooms were clean but very, very dated and when we tried to open the curtains, they completely tore. They already had a lot of holes in them. There was no window we could open to get rid of the moldy smell. The beds were clean but did not support our backs at all. The receptionists on the other hand are very nice and helpful, even during New Year. The food in the restaurant is also very good and there is a lot of choice for breakfast. You can chose as much as you want. There is a lot of parking space behind the hotel and it is not very far from the city center. You can even walk if you feel like it (about half an hour). The place is okay to stay for one night, but it defenitely needs some modernization. I would prefer to stay somewhere else next time.
From the outside it looks decent as does reception, however the first woman at reception seemed a little rude, we couldnt check in until 3pm, that's fine we came back late that night to find a man on reception who was pleasant enough but struggled with English. Finally got to our room and looked very old, huge air conditioning unit in the corner that made it pretty difficult to sleep as it was so loud, kept turning hot aswell. The empty water was flashing since we arrived. The light switches are on the headboard behind the pillows which meant kept turning on all night as you moved around in bed. The tea/coffee condiments were filled up once during our 3 night stay. It wasn't the worst hotel I have stayed in but it is very out dated and definitely in need of modernization.
The hotel is quite complete with swimming pool, very nice panorama restaurant. Breakfast is very good. The staff is nice & helpful. On the other hand are the rooms (furniture) outdated and really need modernization. The beds were ok, but despite the double bed, only 1 bedside table was present. Location is outside the city centre. Bus stop available. We dined 2 times in the hotel restaurant. Quality was good.
I recently stayed at the Amrath in Breda for a business trip. The hotel is in an industrial area away from city center. The hotel really needs some renovation. The rooms were OK but the furniture is and looks old, so do the floors and toilets. Staff was nice but not particularly and I also tried their restaurant which was average. Not a bad hotel but I would not want to stay there again unless they make some improvements.
I stayed here on my own for one evening. It was reasonably priced and it suited my intended visit. Wouldn't write home about it but happy with stay. The room was a little dated but as I said it was what I paid for. It is within walking distance to city centre (30 mins walk)
Good breakfast, friendly and efficient service. Building a bit old(look like a hostel) but clean and functional. Location was okay and easy to travel once you knew which bus to take :-) Free wifi, so I was happy
