I made my first visit to this hotel and reached the receipt at 3 pm, to my surprise I was told that my room was still not ready, I was asked to wait for one hour, this is ridiculous as I paid for my room and expect room to be ready upon my arrival, they could have upgrade me since my room type was not available but they didn’t, in fact they were ready saying I have no option but to wait . I will never stay in this hotel again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone ....
Hotel is located in city centre and surrounded by shopping and F&B options. Very easy to access nightlife. Clean room and accommodating staff. Every staff member I encountered was polite and friendly. Will most definitely be returning.
The in-house main restaurant was terrible, we had breakfast twice and the buffet dinner twice, as it was not convenient to go out for dinner the second evening (even though the 1st evening was terrible), also to see if the problem was a once off - it wasn't. The hot food on the buffet was almost non-existent, I waited for 23 minutes for some roasted vegetables (because they had run out), which in the end were heated up broccoli and cauliflower, this is unacceptable, however we could have as much roast pumpkin that we might want, yet at 8:40pm they advised us there was as much variety of roast vegetable as you would want – too late we had finished eating by then, and knew from the previous night that at 9.00pm we would be advised the buffet was closed. Tonight, they didn’t advise us anything, at 8:46pm they came past our table and placed the bill on it to be signed, with no explanation, just put it down and kept walking. The chefs were sour faced and under pressure and the lines got longer, but in the end most people just walked away, in fact all they were waiting for was for a chef to carve some meat for them and put it onto their plate, but most of the meat was gone and all I saw carved up in the 23 minutes I waited for vegetables was one roast chicken, and fat sausage, definitely no other meat, plenty of empty platters where meat had been earlier, but none at 7:30pm or after. Asking for an extra slices of salmon sashimi produced a shake of the head and no other reaction, the serve was so small it was hardly worth taking back to the table to eat. At checkout the next morning 2 staff (originally 3, but the 3rd one walked away after serving one guest), allowed 7 Chinese people to rudely push in in front of me, they clearly saw what was happening to (me) the stupid foreigner that was standing there trying to do the polite and right thing, but they did / said nothing. Disgusting and unprofessional behaviour on their behalf. Once I did finally arrive at the desk, and pointed out to them that their behaviour in allowing so many people to push in front of me was wrong, all they did is look at each other and one said – “sorry, do you want to check out now?” I explained that I was also checking-out and paying for another person’s room, (my staff), who was on his way down, the lady serving me said “sorry that my staff had has already checked out and had gone”. I insisted that he had not gone and I’d like to please settle the full account for both room, and he would be down directly to hand in his key-cards, she just kept insisting that he had already checked out earlier, which was not true, eventually I had to call him and confirm that he was on his way down and had not checked-out, only then she said - ok I'll check, and, yes here was his paperwork and I could now check-out both rooms - no attempt at an apology was made. The level of incompetence just keeps on rising. I’ll certainly never come to this hotel again, when I explained this to my business associates they said that we should not have stayed there but instead stayed at another locally owned hotel with a very similar name (which I won’t mention), and they apologised on behalf of Sheraton for the bad experience that I had in their city. For those that say it's unfair of me to write such a scathing review, and that i should have communicated with the hotel first before i wrote a review, I left my business card and I was in the lobby for a period of time waiting to be picked up after checking out, management had plenty of time and opportunity to contact me.
Stayed here for one night. Room was clean and well appointed. No complaints. Breakfast was fantastic. Huge selection of both asian and western favorites. Service was above average. Location seemed to be convenient (not familiar enough with the city to say with certainty). Would stay here again.
Spa services were good and I recommend to use. Breakfast was good and egg station brings Western touch to it. Breakfast has good choice and quality seems good. Only minus is the English skills of the staff...but in the other hand I understand as I would say that max 5 % of guests were foreign. I can highly recommend!
Came here to eat buffet lunch. Assortiment was mediocre at best and was not very big. Tuna and salmon were fresh and good. Beef from the grill was a solid 6/10. Sauces for the grill products were very bad. Dont go here
The Sheraton hotel is a great hotel in a very good area. Very clean rooms and also staff are friendly with fantastic service. The breakfast is very good, with heaps of variety of food. I will stay here again.
The hotel is FANTASTIC!! The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The conceige desk help me to sign over my delayed luggage and bring it up to my room. The bed is very comfortable and I basically sleep the moment I lay on it. The room is very clean and very spacious. For those who need a fitness centre, not every hotel in China have Gym, while this one have it and it is pretty cool. I stayed at the club room hence I am able to have breakfast at the club and check out at the club. very delicated services.
Stay: 3D2N As a member of the SPG, I always try to stay with the hotels in the group and always go for Sheraton as a first choice for price vs value ratio is great. With numerous stays experience, I know not to expect too much as Sheratons differ region by region. Despite some bad things I might have to say about this hotel, credits need to go to the team on improvements are in placed based on the comments I've seen, so they do note our comments. Hotel grounds One of the first generation design of 5 stars hotel in China, although nice it seems dated now. Room Spacious as usual, despite my comments about the hotel being dated, the bed, linens and pillows are very clean and feels new enough (I shall not risk peeling the linens out to further verify this point). A good night's sleep is definitely something Sheratons have been consistent of through out. My AC was fine, so they either fixed the thermostat or I was lucky. Standard 5 star hotel facilities, the TV was fuzzy for all channels, as I am here for business, just had time for the news and a little HBO to wind down before bed anyway. What I always liked about Sheraton are the jacket brush, shoe horn and shoe polish, nothing like looking smart in a meeting (important factor for me as I have make up for the lack of substance). Bathroom Again standard stuff with all that you need and more than enough towels to use. One thing (vain again) is the hair dryer exhaled air just like my 2.5 years old godson blowing out candles - lacking, doesn't do what it's supposed to do! My hair fizzes if not blown dry, so again that's important for me! Food I had room service for both nights and they were good enough, I give them some slack as the food has to be transported to my floor so chips (French fries) being soggy under the cling film and pork being a little chewy is just about acceptable. Meals served within the resturants are great though, went to YUE for lunch in between meetings and they were tasty. Breakfast is always a delight in Sheraton, good selection for all tastes, they understand the importance of setting their guests' morning right. Service As a regular traveller in China, I have no expectation for good service, so I found it no surprise that although staff are helpful, they do come across somewhat rude, I put it down to choice of words and tone instead of bad manners. What was cute was the nightcap, I was given a mug of warm milk around 10pm, I supposed it helps one sleep?! Nice touch though. Overall I would not mind staying here again although I had some comments for this Sheraton. All in all it had been a pleasant stay, when I travel on business, I just need things to be simple at a reasonable quality level. Good night's sleep, good enough food so I don't have to waste too much time exploring the city's choice of cuisines. This hotel have managed to fulfill both my requirements. For leisure stays, maybe a good idea to thoroughly go through your hotel options in the area before deciding, not to say don't stay here but when you travel out of your own pocket, you might want to consider value for money more.
The Sheraton Wenzhou is a nice property. I was upgraded to a suite upon check in and the room was nice (and huge!) However, the hotel is showing its age. The room had a lot of wear and smelled like smoke (even though it was a non-smoking room), the entire carpet area in front of the elevators was covered with a huge painting sheet, and the toilet became stopped up. The worst issue was the air conditioning. As others have mentioned, the rooms are SUPER HOT. It was burning up in my room, and even though I set the thermostat on 18 degrees C, the room would not cool down. I called the front desk three times within two hours, and finally, around midnight, the room started to cool down. For those staying in this hotel that wish to be cool, you should keep calling the front desk until they finally switch on the AC system for you. I know that the hotel tries to conserve power (and money) by disabling the AC system, but this is a five star hotel that charges five star nightly rates, and they shouldn't skimp on the AC. The management of this hotel should discuss the AC protocol with the boss/GM of the hotel and they should enable the AC all year round so that all guests can be comfortable. I ordered a Mexican tuna wrap from room service, but was surprised to be served a sandwich rather than a wrap. The french fries were cold, which was disappointing. The taste of the food was good, but the fries should be made fresh for each order. The breakfast buffet was nice with a great selection of Chinese and Western options. However, the seating area is small, which means there is a good chance that a stranger will sit down with you at the table and slurp noodles. The hotel should revamp the dining area so that there is more seating for breakfast. The toaster was not working well (the bread wasn't toasted at all, even with the toaster set on the darkest setting), and there was no salt or pepper on the tables. I recommend this hotel, but the AC issue should be fixed as soon as possible.
