As always the Shangri-La hotels never dissapoint ! This hotel is very nice, rooms are spacious and with all the ammenities that a traveler can expect. Bed is comfortable with a selection of pillows from hard to soft on offer. The restaurant has amazing food, and the breakfast offer is vary large with occidental food too. Staff speaks english and can help.
I have travelled to Wenzhou twice in the last month on business and as is usual chose to stay at a Shangri-La property. The Shangri-La Wenzhou is as you would expect a quality establishment that provides exceptional facilities and service to business travellers. From speedy check-in and check-out to reliable high speed internet the facilities and service on hand facilitated a smooth business experience whilst I was in Wenzhou. The location of the property whilst being away from the action part of the city is close to the river with good access to public open space and walkways allowing you to escape the often hectic aspects of travel within China, saying that the city is easily accessed by a short and non expensive taxi ride. Food and beverage outlets within the hotel provide a high quality offering and service with reasonable prices. All in all I can recommend the Shangri-La Wenzhou as a great place to stay whilst on business in Wenzhou and will be returning in the near future.
When somebody stay at Shangri La hotel, currently has high expectation. In some cases the expectation are above the facts. and this is the case. The carpet of my room was really old, dirrty and humid, the breakfast lounge was crowed and there were big lines to be awaiting until to get a seat. The checking out was terrible also with lines , and awaitimg long time. I have visited many Shangri La Hotels in Qingdao, Hog Kong, etc. and this is the worst Shangri La Hotel I stayed and in theory is probably the best hotel in Wenzhou. If that is true, it is clear that Wenzhou needs a 5* star hotel.
I have been staying at this hotel for over 5 years at least once a year when on business. Hotel is very nice and clean, some rooms have been upgraded as they were quite worn down The horizon club is excellent and the hotel restaurant is very good as well. best in Wenzhou
When I arrived at the hotel, someone helped me with my luggage, then when I arrived at the reception, the lady did not smile and no eye contact and said, “ni hao, check-in?” without even looking at me. That was not the service I expected in Shangri-la hotel! The check-in took 10 minutes and I have no idea what she was doing and delaying it. I believe she was assigning my room to another guests knowing that I was leaving early at 5:30am the next day. Handed me the key packet without saying anything. The check-in experience was disappointing as she did not personalize the encounter by using name, did not wish me an enjoyable stay and did not apologize for keeping me waited for so long during check-in. She was unprofessional and unfriendly. I had my dinner in Shang Palace and was welcomed by a friendly door hostess to escort me to a table, but the location was in the corner which makes it difficult for me to call for a service assistance. The food that served was extremely salty, but good thing they offered to replace it. Overall, my dinner experience was good. Later that night I called to ask for 3 tooth paste and was told I could only have one. I told that gentleman I would like to have three and he insisted that I could only have one! That was surprising for a Shangri-la Hotel, a renowned 5 star hotel in history! Next morning when I check-out, I told the GSM on my incident with the operator and he told me he had no comment and speechless. I was again utterly surprised with his response, in no showing empathy and was not apologetic about it. I could tell he was embarrassed but did not bother to offer any recovery, which I was disappointed. I walked out of the hotel in dismayed and wondered if I would like to stay in a Shangri-la hotel anymore if this could be the expected service in other properties that I might visit in the near future. The room was spacious and look clean generally, except for a hair I found on the vanity counter.
Very good choice in Wenzhou, rooms were big enough, good breakfast. Good bed comfort, new hotel in Wenzhou, quite surrounding. Nothing near by & if you want a bottle of water then you have to take taxi for nearby shops. In room dining only few choices.
Nice and big hotel , rooms are big enough . Staff was helpful and internet was good , international restaurant is just Ok . Silent hotel with luxury, definitely stay here again ... check in and our was faster than many hotel
This is one of the better hotels in Wenzhou. Service is good and rooms are fine. Can not comment on the gym as I had no time to go there. Breakfast restaurant is good with nice variety of choices. No cappuccino unfortunately.
Was a good experience.but the location of the hotel is a bad choice.like to get something you need to travel far,Around is most likely school or open place.but you can see the river next to it ..that a nice view though
Everything was perfect regarding room, etc. Only issue I had was a bit of difficulty splitting the "business reimbursable" charges from the non-reimbursable charges, but eventually that was solved. But the Shang Palace restaurant ... the best Dim Sum I have ever had! The pork dumplings were so full of flavor, so juicy I was reminded of the movie 食神. Also, get a club room. the view from the club is outstanding. And don't miss the great swimming pool!
