This is a great property and a great location. Just yards from the beach. House has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our family totally enjoyed all aspects of our stay. This house easily accommodated every member of the family .

Annual Maine weekend

We are 5 couples from NH who have been booking a long weekend on the ME coast every winter for 20 years. This was our best house choice yet. Three on-suite bedrooms. Three separate living areas if some want to watch tv while others play noisy board games etc. Open and spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Decor and appliances very nice. Great views.

Family gathering

Wonderful house. Room for all for both together activities and private ones also. The only complaint we had was the discrepancy in the listing that stated 5 queen beds and one double. They were all double. But they were comfortable.

summer fun

Fabulous location, Great views, quick access to the beach, quiet location. Group of 10 and everyone had their own privacy and bathroom, which was important. Close drive to Olgunquit, York, and Kennebunkport. Also, the younger ones were able to visit the zoo as well as the splash park. I personally loved walking the beach, the beach was absolutely beautiful. Exceeded my expectations. Would definitely return.

Up the creek without a paddle!

The physical property itself was as billed. It had ample room for our family and nice kitchen. A short walk to the beach. HOWEVER...we had issue was with the fact that the house (shown with paddle boards in their picture and marketed this way) did NOT come with paddles!?! After arriving and eager to go for a kayak ride (had 3) we could not find any paddles. I texted the owner/mgmt company with a picture of the storage area and they just said "sorry for the inconvenience." I asked if I could buy some and get reimbursed and they said NO. No desire to remedy the situation. Terrible service. We also found numerous ants in the kitchen. Only 1 shower could run hot water at a time. Overall disappointed for what we paid for our stay. Would not recommend.

A Gem

This property is a gem. The house, located on the Ogunquit River, comes with kayaks and paddleboards to use on the river. This house is one block from a beautiful beach allowing for easy access and quick back and forth. The house also included beach umbrellas, beach chairs and beach towels. In addition, the house itself is also a gem - six large bedrooms, five bathrooms and two half baths, three living areas - one on the top floor with views of the ocean. The kitchen is large with eating areas at the counter, the table and an outside table on the deck overlooking the river. All the cabinets and light switches were labeled which made finding things easy. This was a wonderful vacation spot for one family - two grandparents, one couple with three small children and two single adults. We are definitely planning our next trip.

Great house to enjoy nature!

This house is perfect for enjoying the beauty of the ocean and marshes. The kitchen deck looks on to a beautiful marsh. The ocean is a mere 2 minute walk and Moody Beach is spectacular! The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are really comfortable and there is lots of room to spread out and relax. Just a wonderful place to unwind with family and friends.

Christmas by the Sea

Our group of 7 women traveled to the area for Christmas by the Sea. This house was perfect for our needs. It had plenty of space, a well-stocked kitchen and incredible views. We could walk to the beach in a couple of minutes. The house has multiple gathering areas, making it an excellent choice for families or groups of friends. We hope to return in the future!

Great place… if you have a car

The house was great, beautiful views, lots of amenities and room. The beach was just steps away, clean and not very crowded (at least in the latter part of June). Just make sure you have your own transportation! We were not aware of this. We arrived by train on Father’s Day and had to walk three miles with our luggage to the house. There was a bus from the train station but it only went to Hanneford plaza, which was about 3 miles from the house. There were no taxis or Uber/Lyft that would come drive us. The nearest car rental places were in New Hampshire or Portland, ME and they didn’t have vehicles available. Apparently there used to be a trolley but they can’t find drivers to do the route.

January Getaway

This home was just perfect for 4 couples or more. The home was well equipped with everything that we needed. We especially liked the kitchen area where we could cook, enjoy socializing, play cards and enjoy the view. Although we could not use the deck due to the weather, it would have been perfect in the warmer months. Parking was spacious and check in easy. This home will be one that we visit again!

Had a fabulous 5 day stay!! The amenities the house had was far beyond what was expected! More than enough space for 12 people, abundance of kitchenware, sheets, pillows and extra blankets! No need to pack anything for the beach, as there was about 15 beach chairs, toys umbrellas, kites, tubes and much more!

moody beach vacation

it's a beautiful property nestled between the main beach and the river. you truly have the best of both worlds. if you are looking for outdoor activity you can paddle the river, or you can sit and plunk your a... in the sand and marvel at the atlantic. This is a home set up to entertain large groups, but also offers each guest/couple/family their own a well appointed private area. We had 12 adults at one point staying over and no one felt cramped. The space was immaculate, and well appointed. We spent long hours sitting on the back deck enjoying the river view with plenty of waterfowl. Taking food off the grill directly into the kitchen and prep area was perfect. For those with orthopedic issues, the ground floor level offers it's own entertainment and kitchen area, with a short flight of stairs up the the main level. Having an upper level with a balcony was great for the night owls, and having a small kitchen there spared going up and down for drinks and snacks.

Great house, better location !

We loved our stay at the Family Beach Retreat! After visiting the area for the last 30+ years, this has become our favorite location. Having the beach steps away , and the marsh to explore in the back yard, it was a perfect location for our crew which included 6 children 9 and under. Plenty of room to spread out & loved the abundance of bathrooms. House could use a couple of updates, however, we would absolutely rent from here again!

Fabulous..12 of us..age 6 to 70… The beach..the beautiful marsh sides..enjoying the deck and even the fishing . Quality bedding and furnishings. Abundance of beach supplies.would have been great if there had been twin beds for the children but not a deal breaker… Great great vacation
