Overall the hotel suited our needs. However, we found that the room was noisy - almost like there wasn't much insulation between rooms. Our only other complaint was that the shower was basically a glass box in the middle of the room. Talk about no privacy... The overall condition of the hotel was good, though they could have been better with cleaning up trays in hallways, and the hall rug really needed to be shampooed.

Room was incredibly small. I think I got a level below what I paid for.

You can't get better location! Almost everything historical we wanted to see was walking distance, and the concierge was so attentive and helpful.

This hotel is perfect for a party couple looking for getaway, and who found a good price. I would not recommend for the quiet couples, families or for those seeking relaxation. The upstairs restaurant turns into a club at night, so if you go out to dinner and come back, but just want to go to your room, you will be fighting for the elevator along with other club goers in line. This is a great hotel, if you get a discounted price. Don't waste 4 or 5 hundred dollars. The city is too accessible from other hotels.

This hotel is located near many important monuments within walking distance. There were good restaurants around or you could take the cab right downstairs. The hotel was very clean, and service was great. If you are a girl, you would love this hotel because of the design and products. However, wifi is not free and you have to call for service for some basic things which should have been positioned in the room (e.g., toothbrush and slippers). It was a little annoying that travelers have to call in for such basic amenities. Also, it would have been a plus if shuttles to and from the airport was provided and surely other hotels around this area has this service. Overall, it's great but it could have been more pleasant.

The hotel was nice but the breakast buffet was ordinary and basic. And the menu of the roomservice can be better. Mexico W was better. Keep trying

A bit noisy at the front desk lobby level, but very friendly staff, always wishing to help in anything

It was awesome! Everything we wanted was right in the, good food and nightlife. Oh and all the sights were in walking distance. Totally plan on staying there again when I am back in town!

I was so excited to stay at this hotel because of its proximity to the White House. Arrived early checked in ... Was treated rudely by the check in girl! Once I made it up to my room I found all kinds of hair on the bedding!! There was also a paper covering some sort of alarm/light.... Looked super schetchy! I complained to a manager but he was ruder than the girl at the check in desk! I figured out that this hotel is known for hosting celebs and the uber flashy rich "hip" crowds...explained the snotty, rude treatment .

The W was perfect for a romantic getaway! We were walking distance to many festivities and had a wonderful time! The only downside was how crowded the family room was at night. The POV rooftop bar turns into a club at night and a lot of people come that are not staying at the hotel. When we returned from dinner Saturday night the line was out the door to get onto the elevator, so we went to the front desk to see if we could take the stairs up since we weren't going to the club, we wanted to go to our room. We were told there was no stair entrance and we had to get in line, which as a guest was very upsetting. We ended up cutting the line and told the elevator attendant we wanted to go straight to our room, and he let us go. Overall it was a great hotel, but I wouldn't recommend unless you enjoy the nightlife it offers.

Positives: location is fantastic; staff are very courteous and helpful; room was clean and well-kept. Negatives: additional cost for in-room internet (quality luxury hotels shouldn't be charging additional for this); rooms on 10th floor are EXTREMELY loud on Friday and Saturday nights.

I was so sad to check out after just one night at the W DC. I loved to style and the location! There was a lot of street noise in the room, but given the location, it's to be expected.

This place is very overpriced. There were multiple orders of room service dishes sitting on the floor outside of other rooms in the hallway all night and into the morning. The room itself was tiny but comfortable. The lighting in the room felt like a red-light district. There were weird red LED lights all along the headboard of the bed. I paid $237 for one night at what I thought was going to be one of the classiest hotels in town. The whole stay was off-putting and weird. It definitely disappointed me.

Even though our flight came in super late the first night, everyone took care of us as if we were presidential. The location was wonderful, the best location in town. Everything you need is in walking distance, and the White House is literally right next to the hotel. The Acura service was excellent, beautiful cars to take us wherever we wanted to go in a 5 mile radius. The restaurant suggestions were awesome, especially the "Georgia Brown" restaurant their food was AMAZING! The hotel staff were very wonderful, they weren't afraid to actually hold a conversation with you, very nice people. They greet you every time you come in the door and lobby. Omg it's so much I can say about our 1st time experience to Washington D.C., even the big bus tour that the city has is awesome that the best tour line everybody should take you hop on hop off all day. Overall this experience was awesome, magnificent, if I come again I'm staying at the W.

This was a great choice for a first time visit to D.C. in terms of location. You are right in the middle of the Mall and a stones throw away from the White House. Overall, the W staff had great customer service and catered to every need. The POV bar on the roof was a great weekend hot spot as well!

The hotel was in great location. The décor of the hotel is super cool.

The staff was so helpful and amazing, and we were within walking distance of everything--the capitol building, white house, monuments, etc. The bars were really fun, too.

The exceptional parts of this hotel are the lobby and staff. The lobby has preserved the original detail (including the original, bank-like check-in counter), adding modern touches like beard and hair silhouettes of our most memorable Presidents (Chester A Arthur is unquestionably the best). The staff who checked me in and out couldn't have been more welcoming. My interior-view king room was on the small side and cluttered with items for purchase. Some may find this convenient but I found it detracted from the contemporary-retro style.

Very professional and sleek, the W trades standard "family" amenities like swiming pool and children facilities for ultra hi-end yet modern looks, comfortable rooms, friendly staff , fantastic bars and award winning location

As a SPG member, we were immediately identified and offered an upgraded room and two free drink coupons for the bar as it was my birthday. The employee behind the check-in counter was incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a perfect stay. She pointed out services of the hotel based on our plans. Upon reaching out room, there was a quick follow-up knock at the door. A manager had brought my wallet and cellphone up to the room personally as I had left it on the counter during check-in. The rooftop bar, with it's incredible view of the White House and Washington Monument, was a nice surprise. The complimentary Acura car service saved us a taxi ride and allowed us to arrive at the Kennedy Center for our show in style. Drinks at the rooftop afterwards and a little dancing at the POV Club on the roof were a great end to the evening. The Premium King room had an awesome view of the Treasury Building, the White House, and 15th Street down to the National Mall. The room was a bit small for the money; however, this we didn't spend much time in the room. It was comfortable, including the bed; but the bathroom configuration is a bit strange with the vanity out in the room and the toilet/shower encased in a frosted glass room within the room. We did have a hard time finding switches for some of the lights in the room which we never did get to go bright. We should have asked. All in all, our stay was very pleasant and we will be using this hotel again in future visits to DC.
