Nice property, liked the complementary drink at check-in from the friendly staff. The rooms are the tiniest in the entire world. Hilariously small actually.. It didn't really bother me because I got in late and was only there for one night for work, but if you imagine stretching out and making yourself at home for a few days, look somewhere else.

The hotel is a landmark property and while they’ve tried to update and renovate the rooms, our basement room felt cramped and dingy. Maybe some of the other rooms are nicer. The location is excellent and walkable to museums and other sight seeing, but for the price I was not impressed.

The Kimpton Manaco is a cool building, having been a post office in its past life. The Kimpton line always delights and rarely disappoints. The decor is hip, the service is great, and the rooms are solidly comfortable. The happy hours are nice to come 'home' to at the end of a busy day, as well. My room was nicely quiet and always well cleaned. It was my second time at the Monaco as it's conveniently located in downtown WDC. This time, I popped into the National Portrait Gallery directly across the street for a quick hour of art and relaxation. I'll be back!

It’s a beautiful hotel conveniently located to my meeting space

Unique decor, very nice staff. Interesting the only restroom outside rooms was on the third floor.

Great location, friendly, helpful staff. Our room was very quiet and spacious.

I got a first floor room which is actually basement. The windows are very heavy and don't look like they'd open. The room had a funny smell which assuming is from either the cleaning stuff or shower soap... Worst part was there is a fan somewhere either outside the unit or in the walls that's so loud that I couldn't sleep. I turned off the AC/fan and it's still there. Called the hotel around 5am to inquire, they said they'd send some security people over to look, but waited an hour and no one came... so I think I fell asleep after 6am... Otherwise the front desk was pleasant and nice and the hotel looks presentable. But I didn't enjoy my stay there. Also no free water in the room but that's less important than the noise.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I chose this hotel because it allows pets. Our room was very spacious but it was in level 1 which is in the basement and felt spooky.

This is in the center of a lot of activity and the Metro is close. Enjoyed the energy and noise. Restaurants nearby and very convenient. This is a historic building so you might need to appreciate that sort of thing, we got the lower 1st floor room which could have used an air freshener but didn’t mind it.

Great stay, the only detractor was seeing news networks on every TV I walked pass. Our whole purpose of travel is to get away from news and political issues.

I picked the Hotel Monaco because of its location in the center of DC. It was an excellent location, so I was very happy about that. Unfortunately, my room was on the first floor, which is the basement. My window looked out to a concrete wall, instead of the beautiful buildings that surrounded the hotel. Rumbling and screeching from the underground metro kept me up. It was very disappointing. As compensation, I was credited for a dinner at the restaurant, which I appreciated, but still did not improve my stay.
