Holiday Inn Washington-Central/White House

Nice hotel with good location and easy walking distance to several restaurants and Whole Foods.

I stayed at this Holiday Inn the day after the 2016 Elections, and I was greeted by a Trump cut-out in the lobby and Trump bobblehead at the front desk. I found it to be quite jarring that such a political statement was present in the lobby particularly if there were any guests who may have different political views. When I received a call from the front desk to see how the room was, I did express that I found the political material in the lobby to be offensive. Even if it's meant to be playful (e.g., take a picture with the cut-out), or the owner of the hotel is a supporter, I simply expect the places I stay to remain neutral. The front desk representative said he would tell the manager. The next morning, the materials were still prominently positioned in the lobby. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

I very much enjoyed my stay. The customer service and attentiveness was beyond my expectations. The only small issue was the cable in my room was not clear, as some channels I could not even watch. I wish that there were on demand movies or access to movies in some fashion. Would definitely stay there again!

Least expenive hotel I could find in walking distance to conference center but still very expensive. Hotel was older but clean. Walls are very thin so we were able to enjoy the elementary school kids gathering in the hall at 5:30 am for their class trip the capitol and the neighbors wild one night stand.

Friendly staffs and clean room. This hotel located in nice area with many stores.

It was a great hotel. Nice place, cozy room and sofa.

Everytime I go to DC I'm just looking for the basics but not a rat hole. Holiday Inn always works downtown from the White House. Within walking distance of many restaurants and dance clubs and short cab rides to Georgetown. Stayed here for 3 New Years Eve celebrations.

Unfortunately, I thought the hotel was pricey. However, we were booking during a conference time, so that is understandable. On the positive side, the hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel (which was awesome!), and an affordable 10 minute Uber drive anywhere we went in the area!

Parking was 30 a day and a cot costs 15 a day. Never been charged extra for a cot. Had I known of the extra fees would've stayed somewhere else. Location is amazing.

Hotel was clean and in a good location. Its off of a busy street so it was easy to get a cab. Great views of the city! The only bad thing is that parking isn't included, unless you want to valet your car. But we found street parking a couple of blocks away which is free at night and on the weekends

This hotel always works for me in downtown DC. Has everything you need for an overnight or two night stay and walking distance to nightlife and the monuments.

Great Hotel close to everything. The price was write about what we wanted to spend.

The hotel was of medium quality. The staff was kind and courteous. I wish there were more channels on the television and softer beds. The beds weren't bad but softer would be nice :)

My father was having a couple of procedures done at Washington MEdstar and we needed a place to stay close by as he was required to be AT the hospital by 6 AM. and we live out in Loudoun County, VA. This hotel was only 3 miles from the hospital and a real steal for DC at $150 a night. They surprised us on check in, however, with a parking fee of $30/night! We expressed our dismay, mentioning that we would be in the room less than 24hours, and the very nice and compassionate front desk person waived the fee! NOW THAT"S CUSTOMER SERVICE> she didn't have to do that, but it was clear we were not in the city for fun. We had a small dinner in the hotel restaurant, where the food was good, but the service was slow. The room was comfy, but had no refrigerator or microwave. We didn't need them, and they ay have been available by asking, just be aware. No indoor pool or hot tub, but I bet the rooftop pool is AMAZING in the summer. The hospital is about 20 minutes away; despite the short distance, it is a convoluted route. Totally worth it , though, to be in a safe neighborhood. We didn't get to partake of the free breakfast, but the coffe was GOOD, andthey had international creamers and a large selection of teas available, as well.

The room was too small and they kept telling me that i had an upgrade. Two full size beds was considered an upgrade? They don't have queen size beds in their suites.

very good. Staff was helpful with any questions asked. room always clean. Good locate.on

For the location, you cannot beat it. Coming from living in DC, this location is the best, it is located centrally to everything that I needed to do. The first day, I had a maint. man just walk into my hotel room after one knock and he didn't even announce himself, and walked in. He then walked out. (he used his key and came in). Other than that, the annoying part is having the doors locked at 11pm and having to buzz (there was a lack of people at the front desk) The night people were kind of rude asking me "Do you stay here" and giving me a look when I said yes. Other than that.. I give it 3 stars.

I staid in the hotel because I was working in the Dupont Circle area. The staff were excellent! friendly, helpful, and always available. The restaurant was also very good. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. My only negative comment is that I could hear a little bit of TV noise from the room next to mine. Not a major issue, but if you are a very light sleeper, it might affect you.

we enjoy our visit to washington DC and this hotel is in a good location but i really walked like 6 blocks that the only thing that a didn't like ,but i worked out!!!!

Thank you for posting your review of your stay at our hotel. Although we appreciate your comments, please note that in addition to a stand up of President Elect Trump, a stand up of Mrs. Clinton was also present. Also decorating our lobby you would have found various novelties of political figures past and present such as bobblehead dolls, etc. Our hotel restaurant is also White house themed, with photos of various first families and replicas of White House china patterns through the years. Just trying to get into the spirit of election season. We hope that you will visit again.
