Unexpected basement apt.
The unit was neat and clean but all the water in the building went thru the pipes behind the kitchen wall very noisily and there was no water pressure in the shower.

Cozy Getaway
We had a lovely time staying in this cozy 2-bedroom apartment with quick access to street parking. It's located just a few minutes from King St. which boasts many cute and trendy cafes and eateries. We walked everywhere; the area is beautiful and very easy to navigate, not to mention very safe for lone walkers as well as couples! Our host, Delarno, was so easy to work with, and very responsive. He gave us lots of great recommendations for local food, and the check in/check out process was so quick and easy! We will definitely be staying here again if we are in the area.

Nice but noisy Alexandria basement
The basement was super clean, which we appreciated. But the people who live above the apartment were pretty noisy. It sounded like they dug their heals into the floor as they walked across, and you could hear their conversations through the vents. They were up all hours of the night and morning, so our sleep was interrupted several times a night. In addition, the water pressure for the shower was really low, so it took a lot longer to shower. We were only there to sleep... We never used the kitchen, parking or any amenities. It was nice and close to the Metro and Old Town, which we did appreciate, but we're old and need our sleep, so we wouldn't stay there again.

Great small, well priced and conveniently located abode. The coffee pod options seriously need updating to include just plain coffee. They were all fru fru flavored stuff.

Four Days in Alexandria VA
The owner was responsive to all questions and inquiries. There were no prior reviews on the property and consequently we had very little information regarding the rental unit. What we discovered and were very disappointed by was that we were staying in a basement unit with very little natural light and poor air quality. There was an air quality ventilation systems in place but was noisy and inconvenient despite being programmed to operate 3 times daily. The unit was small with a very tight bathroom , toilet, and shower and no place to put personal items or to even hang clothing in the bathroom. The mattresses were comfortable but the bedrooms were very limited again for storage of personal items etc.. There was a partial sky light window in the guest bedroom that gave anyone outside looking in an unobstructed view of the bed. I felt like my privacy was in jeopardy as a result and there was no shade or curtain to block the view The kitchen was very small and was not conducive to preparing meals. The microwave oven stopped working but then came back to life but interrupted the reheating of our leftover meals from local restaurants. We observed insects and spider webs throughout the unit. The appliances were fair and the refrigerator door had a dent. Overall the cost was not in line with the quality of the unit. I must say that the location was excellent and close to the metro, trolley, and downtown and that the owner did try hard to answer our questions.
