The staff were professional at check in and during 3 day stay. The gym down stairs, clean, the cardio equipment felt new and maintained. The gym was orderly with water and towels, clean. The room I stayed in on the 8th floor was was clean, no odor's. Small frig but it worked fine. The AC worked well also. Breakfast was good, Starbucks coffee, plenty of seating space in the lobby and you can find a quite space. The Wi-Fi worked fine no issues. My overall stay was very good. The location is in the GWU campus area, walk to all. I did not have a car, taxi back and forth to Union Station. Walked to all meetings and other appointments. CVS and 711 within a block of this location. Did not use or visit the indoor pool.
Stayed here to try out the D.C. Fourth of July celebrations. Very easy access to the mall but not in the thick of the downtown scene- a little less touristy feeling. The indoor pool was small but that didn't stop my kids! Front desk was super friendly and courteous. Got a map and a list of restaurants in walking distance on check-in which was nice. Room was clean with adequate storage. Biggest "cons" would be the lack of free breakfast and the parking (paid valet) but that's pretty typical for a city hotel. Overall I was pleased with our stay and if the fam want to do the fireworks again we'll be back!
We had a very nice 2 night stay in the Foggy Bottom Courtyard. Front desk and parking staff very friendly. Parking a little pricey ($40 per night), but the room price was acceptable for the city. Location great- 10 min walk to the White House, right next to George Washington campus. Whole Foods store is 10 min walk in case you need fresh food (great breakfast bar), some options of the restaurants in walking distance or take UBER to get you around the city.
We stayed here for a few days while touring DC. Just a few blocks walk from our White House tour. The place was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Great service every night in the Bistro bar by Alber. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Every single person I talked to from front desk to bar staff to valet and housekeeping was just so nice and friendly and helpful. Truly felt like coming back to family every night. Kudos to management for creating such an atmosphere. I've done lots of travel and hands down service like this is sadly not the norm. Very pleasant stay.
We stayed here for 4 days on our first visit to Washington DC and have to say it was a great location and very convenient without having to be right in the middle of all the chaos. Firstly we arrived early and inquired about the possibility of checking in, which we were given the option of taking a handicap accessible room or waiting (several hours) so we decided to take the room which was offered. The front desk agent also offered that if we were not happy with the room assigned we could change it later. The room it self was fine and the only real noticeable handicap accessible feature was a larger bathroom and a few things were set lower in the closet. Apart from that, the room was as expected at Courtyard properties and we had no concerns. A small mini fridge and coffee maker were in place, the closet was large enough for 2 people and the wifi was reliable. Our room was on the front of the building facing the street on the 3rd floor and apart from the occasional loud motorcycle driving by we had no issues with any exterior noises and we were staying over the weekend. Location of the property is very convenient and easy to get to as we landed in Washington Reagan National airport (DCA) and the taxi took approx 15 minutes or less at a cost of approx $20 with tip. Alternatively the Metro stops right at the airport on the Blue line, which if you take it and get off at Farragut West station you then have an easy 5 minute walk to the hotel; the metro takes about 25-30 minutes and costs between $2.00 - $2.25 but you also need to purchase the metro card which is reload able and this is a one time purchase of $10, all of which can be done from a vending machine in the station. Conversely, flying into or out of Washington Dulles airport (IAD) will cost at least $75 one way and takes anywhere from 45 minutes or longer. Uber and Lyft are also available throughout the city for alternatives to taxis and the metro. From the hotel, there is a CVS approx 3-4 minutes walk straight down E Street and the White House is approx. 10-12 minutes walk in the opposite direction on E street. We will definitely look at returning to this property on our next visit to DC and recommend it for an easy and stress free stay.
Took my family here for a three day vacation. The walk to the Mall from the hotel is about 5 minutes and they about 15-20 minutes to monuments and museums. So it's one of the closest hotels if you insist on walking (just remember summer in DC gets VERY HOT!!! We tried to walk first day and it was 94 degrees, so further walking was vetoed by the family). The hotel has garage next to hotel so that was great, $42 for parking each day but at least it's quick access to car. Room was very nice, kind bed with sofa bed. The sofa bed is a comfortable as sleeping in the Lincoln memorial so try to avoid it if possible. Staff was very attentive, we had several requests they quickly attended to. Downstairs bistro was ok, did not sit down there so can't speak to service, but when you order room service you just pick it up from the bistro yourself. Some people may hate that but if your on a budget this is a great way to avoid further fee charges. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Overall I like the Courtyard Brand. This is not a glamorous hotel, so if your looking to see someone from Congress here it won't happen. But that is probably another great reason to come here !
Had a very nice stay at this hotel. My room was spacious and clean with the all too familiar Courtyard décor. The lobby was spacious and had plenty of places to spread out and relax. There is also a quiet courtyard on the 2nd floor that made a nice place to take a midday nap. The hotel is a quick 15 minute cab ride from DCA. The surrounding area is on the quieter side; the hotel is adjacent to GWU buildings and other offices. There is a Subway and Starbucks close by and a 7-Eleven is on the opposite side of the block. Parking is valet only.
The front desk team here is superb, all professional and knowledgable of the area. Housekeeping was also courteous. I was visiting on a much needed vacation and with little time to fit in all tourist attractions, it was a nice touch for the Bistro location to have a dinner within the hotel. However, TERRY is absolutely dreadful. Her attitude towards the guests are rushed and she is not at all hospitable. I work in the hotel business and her lack of customer service surprises me that she has to represent the Marriott brand. My experience with the location of the hotel, the fantastic front desk and more would've deserved this a better star rating, but I would like her horrible service to be recognized and worked on. There is not a proper Courtyard without a Bistro, and for that, I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.
Courtyard Washing DC Foggy Bottom is a fine, if vanilla, experience. Clean and comfortable room but absolutely generic. Restaurant/bar area in lobby is nothing to write home about. In fact, I sat at a table for at least 5 minutes until a fellow guest told me I had to order at the bar. A waiter walked by me at least 3 times and said nothing. You are also lost in Government world over there, not much by way of restaurants or bars to go to. I had meetings at State Department and for that it could not have been more convenient. Again, perfectly fine place to stay but you can certainly find more interesting parts of town if you are a tourist.
