Room was great! Nice view and the staff were amazing! It was Valentine’s Day and weekend, and I ordered flowers ahead of time for my love and requested that the flowers were in the room prior to our arrival and the staff made sure that they were. Also, much to our surprise was a bottle of sparkling wine two macarons and a red rose. Overall, it was a very splendid day and we would absolutely stay there again. The location was spot on and a short walk to Chinatown and the Capital One Arena, if you would like to partake in any activities in that area. For fellow vegans, the location was also a short walk to an amazing vegan brunch at Equinox.

We had a nice stay at Arlo. Positives - Comfy beds and a convenient location. The room itself was nice as well - large room, with big windows, and a cool brick ceiling. I liked the long bench on one side of the room as it would allow a few people nice seating. One of the service people fixed a broken sconce light the day I reported it. Negatives - the shower door didn't close completely, so it wasn't completely water tight. On check-in, they didn't mention anything about 2 free cans of water a day. Did the hotel do anything above and beyond? No. When I asked if they could do something special for my daughter's birthday, they sent over a menu of products they offer. I said she'd be happy with a few extra fortune cookies. The person at the front desk and the person I texted said this wouldn't be an issue. Ultimately, no birthday surprise. The night before checking out, I asked if I could have late checkout. The service desk said to check in the morning of. I asked again the morning of and no response for 50 minutes. We wound up packing in a rush to get out of the hotel. I guess it's partly our fault, but most places will give you at least some leeway from their posted check-out (or at least respond and tell you it's not possible due to some reason). Finally, the Expedia listing says 20% off dining, but the front desk said it was 15% off. It also mentions room upgrades and late checkout if available, but I wouldn't expect that based off my experience.

Room is very small, only two towels in a king bedroom is not enough upon arrival, should have been 4. They should offer a free coffee station in the morning from 6-9am, instead of charging guests 4.00 for drip coffee. Parking garage is next door which is not convenient and loading and unloading is in the street no driveway. Food and drinks are very over priced. Most of the staff was nice and friendly but I would recommend a few more quest friendly features. Great lounge and gym.

The thing that stood out the most about this hotel is their service and care for those staying with them. I felt very welcome and if I find myself in DC again I will look to The Arlo.
