Loved that it felt like an apartment and was in a great location near restaurants, etc. My only complaint was the room was SO warm and I couldn't get it to cool down.

The overall stay was average. The front desk staff were friendly, and the lobby decor was contemporary with a lovely fragrance. However, when we stepped out of the elevator to the third floor of our room (307), we were shocked between the disparity of this floor and the lobby. Upon entering the room, it smelled as if something was recently fried in the room. We opened up all the windows to air out the room for the night, but closed them at 5 AM when the A/C units kicked on and startled us to death from a deep slumber. We informed Roger at the front desk of the unpleasant smell. I asked if he had air freshener, and he gave me the can of air freshener at the front desk. The the toilet ran constantly, and the shower dripped when turned off. If we did not prepay for the stay, we would have checked out immediately to find another hotel in the vicinity. Unsure the condition of the rooms on the other floors, but I highly recommend the refacing of the third floor and our room. The lobby and room depiction on Orbitz is very misleading. I was apprehensive of using a website like Orbitz, as I was skeptical of the true depiction of the hotel. I will say that this stay was underwhelming, and this is the first and last time that I will use Orbitz for travel-related bookings.

The ombionce, the dim light setting and furnishings had a very positive calming effect after coming in after walking thri the busy street traffic.

Very spacious and comfortable. Would highly recommend AKA.

Staff was wonderful, so helpful, courteous, went the extra step.

The Hotel is really nice, excellent stuff, spacious room, very clean, is close to everything: shopping, museums, parks, metro, variety of food options and good relation of price/hotel.

More of a living space than your typical room for the night. Not the best view from the room we had but the location and amenities were not to be beat for the price.

What an awesome place to stay in. Has pretty much everything you need for a weekend stay.

Great staff! Great Terrace! Great Gym! A perfect place for a week/weekend getaway!

Really enjoyed the spacious setting. Especially large for a downtown DC setting

Very comfortable hotel in a great location. Will definitely stay here again.

I doubt any hotel in the city has rooms the size of AKA's standard one bedroom suites. Great for entertaining and have 1.5 bathrooms. Love the small washer and dryer and complimentary single use laundry detergent. Furnishings are nice looking. What keeps this from being a 5 star hotel is the service and amenities. There's no mini bar in the rooms. When I called the front desk to ask for more bottled water, I was told to come downstairs to the lobby bar and get it. When I asked for a noon checkout instead of 11am, the front desk person had to put me on hold to ask someone if that was ok. The answer was yes but noon was the ABSOLUTE MAX they could do. How often do people ask for one hour? It's not like I asked for 3pm. Also it bothered me that there are no locks on the front doors, only the electronic plastic room keys. Small things that should not be issues for this price point.

Nice hotel, quite comfortable, close to Metro lines, no complaints.

It was terrific and comfortable for the caregiver & the ALS traveler

Instead of staying at the conference hotel I choose to stay at the AKA The White House and was so happy I did. The staff were super friendly. The apartment was immaculate. The kitchen was well equipped. The washer and dryer came in handy as I stayed a week and also ran around the mall several times. I will stay again and highly recommend others to stay here as well.

Full featured two-bedroom two-bath apartment was comfortable and convenient for a long stay. Space was well appointed and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location.

Tons of space and comfortable furniture. Kitchen worked out well. No issues at all
